The article I use for my work is about dog's personalities and how people impact the dog's life, mood, and behaviors. The article presents the cases of dog parenting and the implications in terms in terms of the effects on the pet; the effects could be anxiety, responsiveness and the extent to which they are active, all which show how their personality can be influenced.

How would you go about finding more information on the topic that you chose? List at least two different sources that you would consider reliable.

I would look for features of a good source of information to conduct further research on the topic. I would first consider the most relevant sources using keywords such as dog, personalities, human beings, and parenting. I would choose the relevant source from those published recently, within 5 years time, to ensure that the information to be referred to is updated. Moreover, the authors of the article I would choose must be associated with some academic qualifications which would further contribute to the credibility and accuracy of the published information. I would, therefore, consider the following sources as they meet the criteria above:

Kurachi, T., Irimajiri, M., Mizuta, Y., & Satoh, T. (2017). Dogs predisposed to anxiety disorders and related factors in Japan. Applied Animal Behaviour Science, 196, 69-75. Doi: 10.1016/j.applanim.2017.06.018

Rao, A., Range, F., Kadletz, K., Kotrschal, K., & Marshall-Pescini, S. (2018). Food preferences of similarly raised and kept captive dogs and wolves. PLOS ONE, 13(9), e0203165. Doi: 10.1371/journal.pone.0203165

Briefly explain why you think these are reliable sources of information to help you find out more about your topic.

The article can serve as a reliable source of information to research more on the topic. For one, they present a relevant piece of information in relation to what the topic presents. Besides, the sources were recently published hence they meet the conditions of updated information from a source. Moreover, they were published in the peer-reviewed journals which ensures that they have undergone the minimum quality control.

What impact can cause to the personalities of a dog's that doesn't have an owner or (parent)?

The personality of a dog that lacks an owner is affected in a number of ways. For example, such dogs as less excitable and active. As a result, dogs tend to be less responsive to training exercises and are more fearful (Michigan State University, 2019). Besides, the dogs are normally less aggressive to other animals and to human beings. The dogs, therefore, take time to understand any form of communication and therefore a relatively low level of responsiveness is the main issue.

How you can we help dogs who are experiencing a big change and difficult situations?

A dog experiencing big change and critical situations can be helped through strategic interventions. For instance, one needs to determine the favorites for the pets and introduce to them; these can be toys or dishes. Besides, according to Michigan State University (2019), the dogs need a consistent schedule for the activities involving them; examples including mealtime, playtime, and bedtime. The other way can be minimizing anxiety by allowing them to be near the owner irrespective of where he or she goes or does.

What causes constant anxiety in dogs?

Loneliness is one of the significant factors leading to anxiety in dogs. Dogs need attention just like human beings; therefore, if deprived the opportunity to hang with the owner, they soon become anxious. Another considerable cause of the situation rapid change of situations; dogs need gradual change otherwise, they grow anxious.
