In reality, globalization has made the world "flat," due to the interconnection, of both local and global industries to serve the ordinary citizen. In many areas, such as the food industry, the fusing of both global and regional sectors has been widely experienced. For instance, the "Mc-glocalizing" in Norway, which gets McDonald's treatment. On the other hand, the concept of globalization becoming lumpy is attributed to the higher demand for locally manufactured products. This is done through re-localization of products from a global perspective. The demand for locally produced products is attributed by political power, that makes it expensive for the residents to enjoy the benefits of imported products.

2. Explain how the Bretton Woods agreement has contributed to globalization.

Previously global barriers had restricted the global business market, not to mention the strict restrictions of movement of workers, and business. Bretton Woods agreement has drastically ushered the world to globalization. This has been achieved through the reduction of restrictions, facilitating financial support from global institutions such as the World Bank. On the other hand, the agreement also helped to develop a comprehensive commercial exchange system for currency, which facilitated the rapid growth of globalization. Never the less, this has given birth to Multinational Corporation (MNCs) such as in the production of Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The output of the entire plain has been subcontracted to different companies across the world.

3. Has the Demographic Transition Model outlived its usefulness? Cite at least three specific examples/points discussed in our course to support your conclusion

Many developing nations have been attributed to increased birthrates, as part of the social security status. The notion of wealth in developed countries has limited higher birth rates due to the expensive nature of raising children.

On the other hand, DTM has dramatically focused on the need to understand the actual concept of demographic transition, where governments are encouraged to reduce the birth and death rates, through increasing better pension schemes, and excellent health care facilities. Lastly, the elderly population is less violent, and wiser, as the DTM suggests for the adoption of lower rates in birth and death, the community benefits for peace and unity in the society.

4. Explain how the production and consumption of vegetables, fruits, and grains can be linked to the four forces discussed in our course. Do not discuss meat or dairy products.

The increased population of people requires an increase in the production of vegetables and fruits. On the other hand, while the creation of these essential commodities is less in a populated area, the growth in demand for resources is higher, due to limitations. This leads to inadequate production of vegetables to meet the need of the market. However, the concept of globalization affects the entire process. The increased population is supplied with vegetables and fruits. On the other side of the coin, climatic changes are attributed to the burning of fossil fuels, which is associated with the transportation of the vegetables and fruits to meet the globalized market.

5. Explain how the occurrence and spread of cholera can be linked to the four forces discussed in our course.

The concept of climatic change has been regarded as one of the contributing factors that have facilitated the growth of cholera. High sea surface temperatures have increased the propagation of vibrio cholera bacteria since it is a suitable condition for the bacteria to spread. Demographics have played a critical role in the spread of cholera. At first, cholera was discovered at the Brackish waters of Granges Brahmaputra Delta. The increased growth of the villages made it possible for the spread of cholera. Globalization has also increased widespread cholera in many areas. The growing British activities and trade facilitated cholera spread from the middle east region. Lastly, the increasing demand for resources has highly increased the spread of cholera across the globe.
