Despite the massive destruction of property and loss of lives experienced during the war, peace was finally restored.

Based on Christian, the action taken by the U.S. government was not the most appropriate method of setting the dispute, since other methods would not have led to the massive destruction of properties and lives. Methods, such as negotiations or legal proceedings, would have been the most appropriate.
