Additionally, the communication between different genders differs whereby; other occurrences may affect the interaction. These occurrences may include; age difference, relationship differences, and also the environmental differences. There is a difference in how men and women communicate. According to various reports relating to the communication between men and women, their communication style varies in that; women base their statements on emotions while men are factual. For instance, when women communicate, they major their comments and interactions more on feelings and emotions since they tend to talk more about people. On the other hand, when men speak, they focus more on the logic and facts whereby they tend to dominate most of the interactions on tangible this such as sports and business. Additionally, when men talk, they primarily communicate to deliver and acquire information, and they are less likely to ask questions regardless of the atmosphere. On the other hand, when women talk with the aim to obtain an understanding of something and gain insight. Often, the women will speak by asking a lot of questions.

However, some differences or problems may occur when men and women interact with one another. For example, there are higher chances of misunderstanding which may arise due to different happenings such as misinterpretation. Through various researches, women may interpret separate statements differently from the way men expected which may now render the misunderstanding. In some of the occurrences, the women overthink or tend to believe there is more to it when instead the man meant otherwise. Due to such circumstances, men feel insecure about delivering or how they approach a particular topic when discussing it with a woman. As a result, when men and women communicate and interact with no understanding of each other's style of communication, then the message always comes across in a way that it was not intended (Kalbfleisch & Cody, 2012). As an example, since the women communication styles major on delivering and focus mostly on relationship-building when interacting with new people, the men may opt to doubt their professionality in a workplace atmosphere. Correspondingly, since men focus their communication on delivering more direct statements and focus on achievements, it is likely that women perceive or may consider them as too aggressive which in one way or the other may implicate the communication bringing about communication barriers.

The preconceived ideas regarding the opposite gender also affect our approach, especially in communication. These ideas involve the "stereotypes" where the men and women tend acquiring the stereotypical personalities from childhood. The girls are termed as gossipers while boys gain the categorization as reckless. As both genders grow into adulthood, men are illustrated as impatient and unemotional while the women earn illustration as emotional among other happenings. As for this case, the preconceived ideas impact the approach in communication between genders making it hard to understand the different individual due to our presumptions about them. Also, the intervention affects our attitudes by creating barriers where for example, a man may want to communicate about their emotions but are made to believe it is wrong.

Similarly, relationships affect the communication between genders. For example, when there is communication between friends of different genders, there are bound to specific limitations in their interaction. Also, the same case applies to communication between spouses whereby they can talk about particular issues and at times not talk about other because of various limitations. Thus, the relationship statuses render effects to the communication between different genders.
