Cultural Behavior Segregation

Ethnicity and race cultural behavior segregation is the main mechanism through which racism produces (Braveman et al., 2014). Due to the racism, there is the likelihood of living in disadvantaged societies as it will lead to inadequate resources of schools, thus resulting to lower educational quality and attainment. Such behaviors may result in ethnic and racial minorities experiencing high rates of disabling and chronic illness and infectious diseases. Due to ethnicity and race behaviors, health promotion is diminishing. Besides, spoken language in the society diminishes promotion of health (Braveman et al., 2014). Many societies experience language barriers as well as no or low proficiency in reading, comprehending English, or speaking. Therefore, in health care settings, such barriers lead to serious challenges to providers and patients. Also, income and poverty in different families are highly correlated with chronic disease risk factors (Braveman et al., 2014). For instance, families with lower income are associated with high rates of diabetes, heart diseases, hypertension, or stroke. Families living in poverty life are much vulnerable to diseases, thus showing that health promotion is diminished in such families.

For the cultural group experiencing such cultural behaviors has to be assisted on how to escape such difficulties in health promotion. In this group where segregation of ethnicity and race is experienced, there should be the establishment of awareness creation on the hazards of racism. To overcome challenges in spoken language, the society has to be taught a national language which will enable them to speak in common. Lastly, the group has to be engaged in tactics that will help them in eradicating poverty (Barrera Jr et al., 2013). For example, training them on ideas of identifying a business to generate income.
