Both occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists (SLP) form a team of outpatient who handles children with autism in a specific specialized way.
The other approach is the mental health therapy which benefits both the autistic children and their families. The plan involves making recommendations for other treatments such as occupational therapy, ABA and SLP. The major challenge for all the approaches is the Time-Effort-Patience (TEP) interface in which the children, their families and the specialist have to deal over. Another problem is the considerable caseload that the therapists have to deal with due to the low number of professionals who qualify for the work.
