Introduction
Many people deliberately or otherwise fall short of transparency and punctuality which in many instances jeopardizes their fortunes. However, there exist many benefits attached to the achievement of the duo. Accountability can be construed as answerability while punctuality refers to the ability to maintain time in every task one is assigned. The benefits that come with the concepts above remain critical for every human being that aspires greatness and success whether in job or academics. The paper, therefore, discusses the importance of accountability and punctuality.
Accountability builds one's credibility and integrity as they strive to practice openness in their dealings. It may get difficult to attain transparency when dealing with people of mixed backgrounds due to the subjective nature of people. However, people would want to associate with straightforward individuals without panicky where fortunes are involved. One stands to benefit most in business dealings when a person that is considered credible and high-level practice integrity is involved (Lin, Lobo & Leckie, 2017). Nevertheless, the achievement of credibility or integrity is only possible with a transparent person.
Accountability makes one dependable and reliable among people. It builds one's character which can elevate somebody's perception among his peers. The unnecessary anxiety that comes with personal doubt regarding how people look at them does not arise with the transparent individual. Self-efficacy informs one of the best attributes that every right-minded individual should develop. Transparent characters always carry themselves with high-level confidence to the extent that they can freely interrogate issues without any fear whatsoever (Lin, Lobo, & Leckie, 2017). Therefore, accountability promotes the development of moral character that can effectively become pacesetters. It also propels one into becoming a role that others can find viable in coping.
Punctuality enables an individual to become productive at work or any other place where time consciousness is needed. For instance, demanding jobs which require careful utilization of time may leave a worker stressed. However, punctuality would instead have such individuals productive as they would accomplish their assigned duties on or before time without further delays. The workers that observe time would always get ready to settle on their work and allows for prioritization (Sousa, Miethe & Sakiyama, 2017). Sometimes when a lot of work should be achieved on short duration, then prioritization remains key which can only occur with a punctual person.
Punctuality makes someone organized in their work. The organization makes work presentable which attracts accolade and recognition from an employer. One can get promoted in a work facility if they constantly maintain time on their job premises. It makes one get envied by the rest of the team which also elevates self-esteem and makes the job enjoyable. It also promotes professionalism as punctuality is synonymous with formality (Sousa, Miethe & Sakiyama, 2017).
The experience that came from my two incidences of lateness made me realize the significance of punctuality. The fear and disorganization that one develops when they fail to meet deadline remain enormous (Sousa, Miethe & Sakiyama, 2017). Punctuality, however, addresses such difficulties as it enhances one's confidence and organization.
