Introduction
Company culture refers to the structure and organization of the company according to its beliefs. Perceptions of the company define how employees relate with the management at their workplace. Companies have elements that symbolize their culture. The following are the various elements of good company culture, and an example of a company that has thrived had faced challenges with its culture.
One of the elements that should be considered is teamwork culture, and some companies engage their employees on all matters pertaining to the company while others do not. Teamwork gives employees the freedom to associate with other coworkers leading to high productivity. Another factor is the environmental surroundings; the location of the company is one thing to consider. If the surrounding is harsh to work on, it would be difficult to work; therefore, the company should make it a culture for the employees to have a favorable working condition. Values is another factor to consider; for example, if the values of the company are consistent with mine, it would be easier to work for the company.
The cultural organization of the company has the best results for the companies. Zappos is one of the companies with the best thriving company culture. The company culture starts with its interview, which is culturally based. For example, during recruitment, the employees are offered$2000 within the first week if they decide to quit or stay(Patel,2015). Zappos is one the best company which produces quality shoes, its mandates is powered by its culture for instance during hiring, the person with the best knowledge of the ethos and culture of the company as high chances than others(Kashyap,2018). One of the factors which contributed to the creation of this culture is support from its management and employees. Companies should introduce a culture in which every employee should feel appreciated and a partner.
Evaluation of performance by Zappos managers is one of the factors which has reinforced its company culture. The assessment is made culturally by the managers who considerably choose employees according to their cultural fit in the organization. Another factor is that employee empowerment is based on thinking, not written words (Heathfield,2019). The Zappos company culture is one of the best in the company to be envied by other companies in the world. Working on the Zappo company is the best thing as an employee because it offers one of the best company cultures. Its organization makes an employee feel good while working there (Heathfield,2019).
Conclusion
In conclusion, Uber company is one of the companies which has experienced challenges due to breaking down of its company culture. One of the factors which broke the culture is the failure by human resource to address a complaint filed by a client about sexual harassment by one of their officials. The complainant got no justice because the human resource favored their own employee leaving behind other employees with no place to report misconduct in the organization. Three things a company can do to avoid challenges are; transparency, Respect, and accountability. To sum up, companies should adopt new strategies for good company culture.
