Samsung is a technology company that started as a small trading business, and it was located in Su-dong in Korea. Lee Byung-Chul established the company in 1938 with a small number of workers. More significantly, the company's main focus was to produce and distribute groceries. Progressively, Lee created a sugar refinery that tremendously succeeded within a short time, as he was more ambitious (Moon, Parc, Yim, & Yin, 2013). Lee ventured into several sectors, such as securities, retails, and insurance services. More imperatively, the company ventured into the electronics industry in 1960 with confidence, which enabled Samsung to produce its first electronic product that is the black and white television screen. Currently, the company has several divisions that deal with products such as telecommunication, hardware, semiconductors, and other products. Fortunately, the company became among the largest that produces electronics globally. Samsung is known for its culture of collaboration and coordination, as well as teamwork among employees; therefore, its significant progress is often triggered by teamwork, especially among the top managers (Moon et al., 2013). The culture of teamwork enhanced the sustainability of Samsung in the world of business, and today the company is the largest supplier of television, smartphones, and memory chip, as well as being among the top panel manufacturers in the world. The paper seeks to explore the cross-cultural environment in Samsung while focusing on the management of corporate culture, integrity management activities to reinforce ethics and the company's strategies in the global business environment.

Managing Corporate Culture in Samsung

The company, including both the employees and the executives, had been focused on eliminating the hierarchical practices for the corporate culture of the company. The company concentrated much on dealing with the rigid corporate structure, as well as the perpetual changing of leadership that could cope with the increasing competition and the reduction in demand. For instance, Samsung reduced the internal ranking system from approximately seven up to four with the motive of eliminating the sensor-based system of evaluation (Moro, Pires, Rita, & Cortez, 2018). With such drastic changes, the company enables a cross-cultural environment in which all the employees have the opportunity to call one another with specific English names to enhance communication skills within the company; thus, increasing the level of communication, thereby enhancing productivity and performance among the employees. The company reduced unnecessary meetings while promoting online meetings and internal discussions among employees which led to little time spent on the implementation of policies, and avoiding time wastage. Notably, the company allowed all employees to give their opinions in the company meetings, and the management usually listens as they respect every individual's opinion (Moon et al., 2013). Additionally, the increase of inexpensive products from China and globalization made the company lose, as the company concentrated on appropriate plans in changing its culture by enhancing management effectively. Understandably, Samsung developed a guideline for evaluating employees' performance, which allows those workers without disciplinary reports and is competitive to get promotions. Therefore, the company focuses on human resources, as well as taking risky programs to improve performance among employees.

Integrity Management Activities to Reinforce Ethics

The company provides adequate support to its employees by embracing work ethics-related awareness through integrity education initiatives. Samsung initiates employees' training programs, which are made a must for all the workers, which aim at enhancing integrity among employees (Moon et al., 2013). Again the employees attend other training sessions, and the company offers training on different courses, including internet-based that deals with anti-money laundering, as well as trade compliance, which has been taken by all the employees within the company regardless of seniority. Such initiatives are implemented to ensure that the company manages the cross-cultural environment and to ensure that all employees work with integrity and adhere to the business ethics, as well as ensuring a culture of teamwork for success. Based on the population, the study involved 103 students in the management department and is Samsung smartphone consumers. The sample distribution depends on the clarification of the participants at every phase, and the technique applied is stratified random sampling, thus using a sample set of 44 people. The study used a survey in data collection and a quantitative analysis, in which questionnaires were distributed among the students. Notably, the study also conducted an in-depth interview that fine-tuned all the information.

Concerning the results that were based on measurement of the variables for behavioral control and findings which were measured using indicators such as skills and knowledge, financial resource, and trust, the study found that confidence is what fulfills the desire and needs of the customers, and that trust helps in the enhancement of the product quality that leads to an increase in the purchase; therefore the study found that there is simultaneous impact between behavioral control and the confidence in the buying decision. Additionally, strong trust and good behavior controlled an increase in buying the Samsung smartphone. The study by Choi and Hwang seeks to examine the significant role of collaborative capability in controlling the impact of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) on the performance of a company. The study collected data from the manufacturers in South Korea, and the study used a survey questionnaire for data collection. The questionnaire was designed to capture two stages; the first stage involved a review of literature based on environmental practices. The study involved five colleges who reviewed previous literature for appropriateness and provided the feedback. In the second stage, the study conducted a survey questionnaire that involved a sample of 10 practitioners in the supply chain, in which the practitioners provided their feedback on reflection of the items on the interest. The study employed a quantitative method in which the questionnaire comprised of 8 items for performance, seven items for GSCM, and eight items for collaborative capability. A web-based questionnaire was provided to the managers of 910 firms and emails after 14 days.

Based on the result, the study found that there is a positive correlation between the eco-design and performance factors. Again the study revealed that collaborative capability significantly controls the relationship between performance factors and eco-design. There was also a positive relationship between performance factors and investment recovery. Generally, the research found that the execution of GSCM practices has a significant correlation to the performance factors. It is worth noting that some supply chain partners may obtain some types of biasing the findings and environmental certification. Therefore, future research should address such limitations.
