Introduction
Software as a service (SaaS) refers to a model of software distribution which makes it possible for the third-party providers to access hosts applications subsequently making them available to the customers of the business involved on the Internet, as the main platform. SaaS has served as the major category of cloud computing for a significant period. The operation of SaaS is meant to providing the conditions which improve the experience of the customers which the business operations. According to Leopold, Pittke and Mendling (2015), it allows hosting of the customers by the company and serves most of their business needs through the software. Solution X Company is looking forward to developing this model in its operations to serve their customers better. The exercise that is needed to be accomplished is the establishment of the plan development plan having successfully identified the specification for the model (Jia, Xu & Wu, 2014). The plan will serve as the basis through which the company will apply the information gathered during the specification to achieve the completion of the whole project. The SaaS development plan details the various design and development consideration that Solution X will need to incorporate.
Data Protection and Security
Data protection and security is a key design consideration which must be incorporated to ensure that the interaction platform between the business and the customers reflect the occurrence of the SaaS. This will serve as a strategic way through which the company will avoid theft of sensitive data from its website. This must be considered based on the possibility that hackers are always targeting such platforms and in most cases, it occurs with malicious motives. Safari, Safari and Hasanzadeh (2015) observed that this is also important to control the access of the company data by the government; the government could have plans to get the data concerning the unique operations of Solution X, and may approach this through the back door. This call for the need to ensure to ensure the strategies put in place to guarantee the security and protection of the associated data. Encryption will be considered and the given design element is expected to serve beyond the transmission of the data connecting the company and its customers.
Privacy
Privacy must be ensured in the platform and the associated data should only be accessed by the authorized individuals or groups. Privacy will be achieved by making a step ahead beyond working towards security. The company will, therefore, be looking forward to extending much further than merely keeping the data secure. Privacy is a considerable issue that covers various aspects including data privacy, user privacy and protection, and compliance with the regulations (Cristescu, 2016). This is important because the data owned by the company and the customers are shared between the two and access to an unauthorized individual may have negative consequences on its operation and the ultimate success. The achievement of the factor of privacy requires a more strategic approach since it is always a challenging task; therefore, having it in place is quite critical (Safari, Safari & Hasanzadeh, 2015). Data privacy is one of the most important aspects that need to be incorporated as the company is willing to achieve cloud operations for the purpose of improving the customer experience with their services.
Customization
SaaS development will incorporate customization as a significant aspect which will make the service to the customers much better. This will help the system to be flexible enough to accommodate the potential variations involved in the use of cloud solutions among consumers and enterprises. This is expected to provide for the solutions based on the out-of-the-box aspects of the platform software. Wickramasinghe (2015) argued that the customers will have been provided with adequate features which are intended to cover their needs while transacting with the company. Customers need specific goals while transacting with companies; therefore, customization will allow the system to adjust to meet the requirement of the specific needs of a given individual or any other business partner. This will assist the company to be ready to receive any type of customer with whatever business need they are looking forward to meet by interacting with the aspects of service provision of the company.
Integration and Compatibility With Other Systems
The implementation of the company's software also needs to consider integration and compatibility aspect before deciding on the implementation for use among the stakeholders involved. According to Wickramasinghe (2015), at some points, the company or the customers may be in need of integrating their software with other application, and their compatibility is always a success criterion for the companies. With this design feature, the company will have adjusted and fit to the contemporary requirements of software which demand that a single enterprise should be able to utilize many other software and systems (Sarkar & Mandal, 2017). This is important because the additional system to be integrated could be having positive implications regarding the improved effectiveness of the new software. It will also serve as a way through which the company, Solution X to achieve the ability to win most of the customer deals. Incorporating the various aspects of compatibility and integration will deem the company to have a system which seamlessly works with the related systems. Solution X will, therefore, be a targeted business service provider for many customers.
