Introduction

The interrelationship between media and communication has over the years preserved an essential function in the recording of events and giving concrete meaning to narratives making them stretch into the past and connect to the future. In the purpose of new media convergence, digital innovation at the dawn of the twenty-first century has increasingly changed the communication channels from the orthodox printing press to electronic information technology for effective capabilities in sophistication in news transfer. Traditionally, news or social stories entered the community platforms in organized and predictable manners through responsible gatekeepers in mass media transmission. However, in recent age media convergence has diversified the multiple sources of a single news communicated in different versions based on the perception of the disseminator. The purpose of new media has increased access to information and the platforms of communication. For instance, a single news thread can be transmitted through Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Vine, LinkedIn, and Snapchat long before it reaches the mainstream mass media platforms (Baruah, 2012). The diversification of mass media and social media platforms in the new dawn of connectivity in human communication trends have changed the possibilities of any story or narrative accessing its way to the target groups because of the high connectivity rates (Van Dijck, 2013). The younger generation in the twenty-first century is more likely to access their news directly from their cycles of affiliates and associates. The increase in the communication possibilities opened up by the new media ability to increase connectivity contrast the traditional media elite channels of communication that was less engaging and selective. In the wake of improved connectivity and diversification of media technology information limitation lacks distinct boundaries because of the viral spread of a single piece of information transmitted in various modes of communication channels and mass media technologies. Modern connectivity especially through the internet has increased information access and reduced the logical and traditional boundaries that previously limited communication especially in the new media accessibility.

Cultural understanding of the relationship between new media and communication has in recent age gained change of attitude, perception, and focus in specific information dissemination models. The cultural studies have in modern age shown the diversification of media technology that has narrowed from the orthodox broadcasting to narrowcasting which changes the models of communication in any given community. The target group of the audience has moved from the broad market audience to specialized and clearly defined target groups that are smaller (Kress, 2010). Culturally, communication technologies are subservient forms of human interaction that shape creativity in audience connectivity. Through a cultural understanding of media technology and social communication forums, the possibilities, purposes, and limitation of information access in new media in recent times play a massive role in mediating the ultimate function in directing the communication trends. The perspectives attributed to cultural studies in the relationship between new media and communication channels in the 21st-century mold the critical paradigms for the evolutional understanding of the network connectivity. Cultural studies help explore the innovative complexity of contemporary media technology and societal perceptions of communication platforms in theory and practice of social, economic, and political journalism or identities.

Media ecology denotes the environmental understanding of media technology and communication technology or techniques. Thus, media ecology is an evaluation discipline that helps understand the role of media in human life communication functions. The study of the media environment and communication technologies develop various theoretical paradigms to develop a clear understanding of the role of new media in contemporary methods of communication. In this sense, information and stories are passed on to the new generation through a revolutionized environment that changes the culture of communication and information dissemination. The ecological context of media connectivity affects modern society through the growth of improved structures and impacts of information dissemination on the people. Through the paradigm principles media acts as an extension of human ideological complexity and communication technologies as a form of social change. Modern media technology influence the progression of society through information access.

The application of rhetoric elements in modern communication has changed in the new era of communication models. Rhetoric is recently turning irrelevant because people are more informed and persuading to convince them to associate with resistant information in the relationship between new media and communication technologies have to change argumentative reasoning. The ideological perception of rhetoric influence has over the years been adopted by the mainstream media to persuade the target audience to believe information that was previously unknown or less associative to them (Baruah, 2012). The ideology and philosophical perception of rhetoric reasoning fail to take significant roots in the recent diversification of information dissemination in modern communication technologies on social media and other forms of new media technologies. The application of rhetoric reason in composition techniques in visual and narrative information persuasion have diversified in the modern age because of the diversification of media technology and communication avenues. The change of the connectivity and communication platforms had seen the new media decamp form the Aristocratic perception of rhetoric persuasion in communication technology.
