Introduction
The structure and development of the human society tend to be formed on the bases that are commonly used by scientists to mainly analyze the behaviors and the social interactions of the people who live around us. For instance, watching or observing how a certain group of individuals usually have a specific pater of thoughts. To completely understand the structure and development of the human society, one must be conversant with the sociological field. Sociology enables us to view the larger social context of the kind or type of lives that we live, thus enabling us to gain the meaning and understanding of our personal experiences, which are also referred to as the sociological imaginations. Having this kind of mind usually enables us to develop a sense of the existing interaction between biography and history, and their relation to the existing society. According to Elliott (2012), these imaginations tend to be one's capacity to range from the most remote and impersonal transformations to the most intimate characteristics of the human self. Through the use of various sociologists' sociological imagination, various questions tend to arise. Some of these questions tend to focus on the structure of a particular society in general and its essential components. The structural functionalism is considered to be among the three main theories in sociology that usually indicate that the human society is usually a unified whole that works or functions due to the contributions of various separate structures such as education, politics, family and the economy. The aim of this paper is to discuss the development and structure of the human society.
Development in Human Society
The human society is usually formed by a group of individuals that are related to each other through various persistent relations. The human societies are mainly characterized by various patterns of relationships between people who share a common culture and institutions. The development in human society did not happen in a single day or overnight; instead, there is a long history behind the development. Man was not the same as we see him today; instead, there is a huge phase of development behind his or her existence. Historians and scientists have defined various stages of societal development. The historians tend to believe that the two greatest changes in human history within the society are the industrial and agricultural revolution. They also tend to claim that the two revolutions have the greatest impacts on how people live within their specific societies. the industrial revolution term is considered to have been applied to the economic and social changes that marked the transition from a stable commercial and agricultural society to a modern industrialized society that relies mainly on the complex machineries instead of the tools. The drastic changes in the economic and socials structure is considered to have taken place or occurred as the technological inventions and innovations created the factory system that used the large-scale machine production and more improved economic specialization. Societies during the civilization were mainly nomadic and while the cultures had a wide range of tribal norms and traditions.
The social organization of the human society was initially simple and informal, thus making them to remain changes for quite a long time until the development of agriculture and domestication of animals. After the agricultural development, the economic base of people began changing, and also the economic and social structures and the existing political organizations started to change slowly in various ways that differed. During that time, most of the social, economic forces of change were considered to be either dormant or not yet born. The most crucial change that occurred during the last centuries of the agricultural period was the start of the organized religion, expansion of trade, the emergence of states, and the development of reading and writing. Trade among the individuals that lived in the society played a key role in enabling people to connect as they exchanged products. In the 18th century, the production of manufactured goods occurred, this development made way for the coming of the industrial age, and the dawn of the rapid social-economic, sociocultural, and social-political change within the society (Sanford, 2017). In the late 1980s, the industrial society and American society started to experience types of fundamental revolutions (Odum, 2014). These revolutions that occurred in the human society were triggered by the knowledge that made the economy to change from the production of readable goods to the production of certain tradable services
Structure in Human Society
In sociology, social structure tends to be the distinctive and stable arrangement of institutions whereby people living in the society usually interact or live together. Social structure is often linked to the concept of social change, which also deals with the forces that usually change the organization of the society and the social structure. It is usually considered that the opinions on social conflicts are usually structured in certain stable networks at varying levels. Some of these levels include the level of individuals, the collection of individuals, the structured social groups, and the representative samples. It is usually believed that the network structures with the two axes of closure or openness and emotion or non-emotion usually apply in the human society. There are usually two main types of structures that apply to the human society. These structures include cooperative structures and hierarchical structures. These structures tend to act as the poles that delimit the axis of openness and closure. The human societies are, therefore, characterized by various sets of tools that are usually elaborated in common and those, which help to manage conflicts that are inherent in any stable and viable group of human beings. These tools also tend to form a system of values that control of guide the human society. The interesting consequence of the association between the two-dimensional structure in networks of various opinions on social structure and the laterality concerning emotional situations is that any human group and human society of any particular size should have people distributed or spread along the openness axis due to the natural variability.
Any particular decision by people to restrict exclude suppress or remove people on any particular segment of the first axis would result to endless struggles against the biological variability that is contrary to the existing human development (Sanford, 2017). In the deferent periods of evolution, the society usually needs the contribution of people who are usually situated in various segments of the first axis. during survival and war, a minimum of openness and a maximum I of closure are considered to be the best strategy for survival on the other hand, in a period of abundant and calm resources a minimum of closure and a maximum of openness could be the most appropriate and successful strategy for survival. it is considered that a society that has a large number of people linked to any segment of the axis tend to have an evolutionary disadvantage while in a competition with other societies and would, therefore, need to be replaced
