Introduction

The word refutation can be used to stand for rebuttal or vice versa which is part of a contradictory statement in an argument. Speaking from a strict perspective, the difference between the two is that a rebuttal must provide evidence while on the other hand; a refutation merely relies on an opinion that is contrary. Rebuttals rely on contradictory gives a means for evidence to provide a means for bringing a counter-argument. An example of a familiar heated debate that has raised so many emotions and discussions is the one about headphones. There are two generations involved in the debate the ones who have grown up knowing all the kinds of technology and those who knew less about the technology. They raise discussions of how headphones make a person seem less interested or slow the rate of their pace of working. They even go to the extent of not allowing employees to use headphones at work because of the various factors that will be discussed in this paper to bring out the contrary of what the paper tries to bring out about headphones. It is not in all circumstances that using headphones will decline the concentration as a person is working in an office or even at home. Headphones have a positive part in them instead of a person making noise for the persons that are in the same room as them.

The first issue is about distraction there was a claim that there was a person who always wore headphones and sometimes they would hear a chuckle from his cubicle causing a disturbance to others in the office. The fact that he was watching and listening to music was not a good symbol and one thin to be considered contrary to what they think about distraction from such people. What they fail to understand is that for some people for them to concentrate, they require some music in the background to help them focus. Music for many is a factor that enhances the concentration or proper understanding of concepts as they study or do some work. In a place that is noisy, it helps to keep away the noise of other people from distracting them as they do their work "The Great Headphone Debate" Howell.

The second issue but a headphone is about communication there is a claim that they keep people away from interaction with others because they are claimed to be less approachable. It is part of the reason why people mostly support open office spaces without doors or walls to favor interaction between the employees. The concept of building open offices to encourage communication to some is not understandable because people are not in the office to promote the social idea. However being social is good only that maintaining an open office layout to enhance communication to some is not clear because even as they work in separate offices, they are still in a position to work with others peacefully. It does not mean that because they are in different offices, they will not speak to each other. Meeting or other events in the office will still ring people together, and they will communicate and socialize with each other as ordinary people do. It is just like meeting people who work in the same career field but do not work in the same office, but people still communicate efficiently "The Great Headphone Debate" Howell.

The third issue is about respect. The persons from the older generations view using headphones as being disrespectful and being a sign of being a poor employee or worker as a person uses headphones while in the office. This even lowers the number of jobs available for young people because older people think that they have habits that don't please them in their employees. There was a man who during a job interview as he interviewed a young he clearly stated that he would not hire persons below the age of thirty years. There is some sense of biasness in the young individuals of the age below thirty years because they are seen to have some characteristics which they consider not favorable in a working environment. For some they say that they will not hire people with headphones because for them they think that is not a good sign, this should not be the case and people should not be judged based on the fact that they use earphones or headphones. They are just an accessory like a phone which people use when they want to communicate. For those who love using headphones love music and the fact that they cannot carry a radio to each and every place, it is instead easier for them to use headphones to listen to whatever they want without distracting other people. It should not be seen as a factor that shows less of respect they should not be judged by the fact that they carry headphones with them to work or use them while in the office "The Great Headphone Debate" Howell.

Making the use of headphones seem like the worst of all crimes should not be the case. This is because most music is a kind of therapy for the mind that helps many people even in terms of raising the levels of concentration. In a place where there is noise from different fields helps them to sit alone and concentrate on what they had intended to do without suffering from the distractions within the area that they are working around to enhance their concentration as they work. These people should not be judged by other people based on what they are working or how they behave what matters is the quality of their work.

Headphones are mostly used by the persons who want or need to hear one specific sound or a story and no other noise. These kinds of people do not want to have to choose what sound they want to hear and so they make it easier by putting on headphones to keep away all other noises which to them would be a distraction. They will not have to choose the noises to listen or to ignore or different sounds which they may overhear when they do not want to eavesdrop from other people. In such a circumstance, the headphones are useful to these people because they help them to keep away from what they do not want to hear or other kinds of noises which they do not want to hear disruption from. The sound to be heard by one person alone has become so prevalent during the recent years, and so many people are used to walking the streets even in the house while listening to something on their phones using headphones or as they watch movies on their computers or laptops. All these practices enhance the privacy of a person and create an environment to support the activity that they involve themselves with to improve concentration in whatever they do Heffernan is against headphones in her article "Against Headphones."

The importance of earphones is that some people like those who work in radio and television stations use them to enhance their concentration to what they are speaking or listening to so that they can produce good content as they are working in the studio. The same case applies to the music producers and musicians they use headphones to also concentrate on their music as they make their music in the studio or as they listen to the flow of their music. Therefore, people should not be judged just because they walk the streets with their headphones they might have their concentration fixed to one main focus which is their music or a particular thing that they are working on and require to concentrate. It is, therefore, justifiable to wear headphones based on the various explanations which are reasonable.
