Introduction
Cybersecurity entails protecting networks, systems, and computer programs against cyber-attacks that have malicious intentions. The cyber-attacks are done with different intentions, which include destroying sensitive information, accessing information that they are now allowed to access, and interrupting normal business processes. Technologies continue to advance to protect companies against cyber-attacks because they end up losing data and money, hence, companies need to avoid such losses. Cybersecurity continues to advance because threats are ever-increasing as technologies are advancing. Cybersecurity threats are increasing as technology advances. The advancement of cybersecurity is meant to improve the security measures that companies have against cyber-attacks.The most significant advancement in cybersecurity that has occurred over the years includes artificial intelligence and machine learning (Fralick, 2019). Artificial intelligence and machine language have increased the cybersecurity of companies because the programs are designed in such a manner that they can detect cyber-attack attempts and respond to cyber-attacks. One of the biggest strengths of artificial intelligence and machine language is that applications and systems that companies and organizations use can identify malware that is meant to exploit the programs and systems by stealing data and making changes to the programs. Malware programs are the most significant tools being used by cybercriminals to carry out attacks.
Cybersecurity personnel hired by companies are not able to maintain the security of the networks and systems of the companies all the time to detect the malware (Fralick, 2019). Artificial intelligence also acts as a defensive tool of identifying the vulnerabilities that exist where they are used and coming up with appropriate measures to defend the companies against the attacks. Programs and software that use artificial intelligence are designed in such a manner that they can make decisions based on solutions that they have to deal with the challenges that they face. For example, the software might choose to shut down when it identifies attempted attacks that are meant to exploit the programs.
Applications, systems, and networks that use artificial intelligence can maintain effective security standards that are put in place to prevent cyber-attacks (D'Onfro, 2019). Many applications and systems have the challenge of maintaining all security measures that are incorporated into them, the errors keep occurring, hence, hackers take advantage of the errors to carry out attacks. Artificial intelligence helps in keeping the applications updated all the time, thus, there is no time that the applications will have errors allowing the hackers to carry out attacks.
Artificial intelligence allows the applications to collect data on all attempted attacks that are done by the hackers, and the data is used by the security personnel to come up with mitigation measures against the attacks (D'Onfro, 2019). Artificial intelligence and machine language enable the administrators to come up with measures of making the programs adapt to new technologies that facilitate security. Discoveries are made regularly, hence, machine language allows them to be updated with new technologies that are meant to enhance security.Conclusion
In conclusion, cybersecurity continues to advance with discoveries and the advancement of the existing technologies playing a significant role to improve cybersecurity. The use of artificial intelligence has emerged as one of the tools that have transformed cybersecurity to increase security. Artificial intelligence is being incorporated into technologies to improve their security.
