Type of Local Government

The function and the motive of a local government are to create peace and order to the people, as well as ensuring good governance in the whole district. Therefore, the program has chosen the formation of a county government in the Island, which is located off Florida. The project preferred the establishment of county government because history had shown that the county governments are the eldest type of local government tracing its initial establishment before the emergence of World War I., The county government, was established without voting and there were no critical roles like legislative power, and there were no county government chart, as well as business conducted, and the county government did not share its protection with the national government. The council will create an interconnection between the legislature of the county and the executive, particularly on matters touching on the lives of the people and how different programs can be initiated to benefit the residents. Notably, the program will espouse a management system that would be more accommodative where the views of the residents will be put into consideration before important decisions are made. More importantly, the council will ensure that efficient financial plans are implemented to ensure that the other projects that would be conceived later on are properly implemented to improve the lives of the residents.

Leadership Positions

Regarding the leadership positions for the county government, the project would ensure leadership positions are instated in accordance with the County Government Act and conformity to the legal laws. Since the County Government Act requires leaders to be instated through democratic voter election, therefore, project implementation would ensure leaders have their positions through elections. The people would elect members of the county assembly and take part in the legislative functions of the county government. As part of the legislative body, there will be the position of the speaker and the deputy speaker elected by the members of the county assembly, as well as the majority and the minority leaders from the party with the majority members and the party with the minority members respectively. The elected leaders will perform the oversight role of ensuring proper implementation of the county government policies with the bottom-line purpose of benefiting the local community.

Law Enforcement and Judicial System
