The written code of conduct is also meant for establishing ethical and professional workplace, in as much as abusing it can bring distraction, which contradicts everything it is meant for. For example, if employees use it for their gain, it can be abused. Also, managers can consider abusing it, especially, during performance reviews, when an employee fails to follow it, even if the employee adhered to it accordingly. For the sake of preventing such cases, there is a need for investigating all accusations and reports of ethics violations based on the written code of conduct of the organisation.

Also, the same factors will ensure that all employees know what is expected of them. Since both companies have not been operating with a written code of conduct, there is a need for developing one and documenting it. Moreover, the code of conduct ought to have the safety of the employees, the workers, the environment as well as the companies. It ought to have a fair process of bidding and awarding in addition to seeking the consent and understanding of the clients before altering the project's objective and scope.
