The follow up of the personal lives is a form of invasion of privacy. Privacy can be defined as the right to be left alone without unwarranted intrusion by the individuals, institutions, media, or the government. However, though this is the immediate explanation of what is meant by the right to privacy, invasion of privacy is sometimes mistaken by the so-called innocent curiosity by the media. The media will tend to dig for every detail about a celebrity to air it, but this is unfair because it ends up harming the social lives of the celebrity. For example, in the United States and all over the world, such as the footballers usually, have a tight schedule with the media. Whenever they are not on their daily routine, such as playing games, they will always be in the press. This denies them a chance to build their social lives, such as families. For an instant, their tight schedule with the media denies them a chance to be with their families.

The other thing is that show media unfair treatment of the celebrity is the way they expose their privacies without contemplating what such news will impact on their lives. An excellent example of a celebrity who had been mistreated by the media is Tiger Wood, who was a gulf player. He was caught cheating on his wife, and the press published that he is having an extramarital affair making it public. Later, he was involved in a car accident and this too attracted media attention. When he announced that he would not be able to play for some time, the media became more anxious. Within a short period, the press had dag a lot of information concerning Woods personal life, and they reported that he had a lot of affairs outside his marriage. The media went ahead to release his naked photos as evidence. Regarding much evidence and the pressure from the media, Woods confessed that he had been cheating on his wife. The repercussion was that he was suspended by most of his sponsors, and many business deals were also withdrawn. All this was caused by the media where the worst part was embarrassing him in public.

The media can also publish fake news concerning a particular celebrity without minding what it would do to his personal life. Some of the fake news about celebrities are published to attract audiences, but it is an unfair treatment to the involved stars as they can have a negative implication on them. For example, in 2018, there was false news about David Beckham. The Media published that he had got one of the teachers at his daughter Hamper's school pregnant. This story started as mare rumors in the social media, but later it was picked up by the press and published. However, then, the teacher in question was identified, which made his father to state publicly that his daughter has never met David Beckham. Though this was later identified as fake news, it had circulated in the headline for almost a month leading to a lot of speculations between David and his wife Victoria and they were even headed for divorce. This is not fair because as the media gain audience out of such fake news about celebrities, they lose a lot in their social lives.

Publishing every news about the celebrities is unfair treatment of the idols by the media. The stars indeed command a lot of attention to the audience, and hence, they are the primary target of the media. However, this is not fair as it denies them their privacy, which is crucial for each individual. The media should consider treating the celebrities equal to other people by giving them a chance for them to have their privacy without intruding on their privacy just for their benefit of attracting more audience. Among the unfair treatment of celebrities among the media include putting them in a tight schedule that denies them a good chance for their social life, such as interaction with their families. Besides, publishing their privacy, such as in the case of Tiger Woods, who lost a lot of sponsorship when the media disclosed his private affairs. The embarrassment of releasing his naked photos in public was also unfair treatment. Publishing false news is also another unfair treatment toward the celebrities as in the case of David Beckham, whose married was almost ruined by the fake news from the media that he had impregnated a teacher. This kind of treatment is unfair as the media publish this news only for their interest without minding the impact they will have on the involved celebrities.
