1. Lynch (2008) states in Creating a Brighter Workforce with the Arts that the arts help individuals develop skills such as creative thinking and collaboration (paragraph 4). Do you agree with this? Why or why not?

I agree with the statement that the arts assist individuals in developing skills like collaboration and creative thinking. Innovation and creativity involve putting things together using new ways. Innovation and creative thinking entails risk-taking refining and experimenting the valuing of the roles of productive failure. The practice of teaching innovation and creativity involves doing and making and is frequently co-creative and collaborative. While creativity entails the building of the capacity of individuals to put things together in a new manner, innovation is usually perceived as the practice of putting them to function so that they may meet the needs of people. However, these two capacities do not get switched on when individuals are in their workplaces. They require being cultivated across the lifespan of their education in all subjects in several ways possible. For individuals to do well in many sectors of business, they need skills and knowledge in all the crucial areas and rely on arts.

3.Do you think each of us " hears" poetry differently? Why? How can these concepts relate to our responses to other forms of art?

Each hears poetry differently. This is because poems use a various collection of literary works which s written in lines and stanzas which make use of the rhythm with the aim of expressing or emphasizing ideas and emotions. Different people have different ways of paying attention to the elements such as sentence length, placement of words, and how lines in a poem get grouped. Therefore, the rhythm of the poem may bring a different meaning to individuals.

4. In your Week 1 University Library reading, M.I.A., (2008) discusses the work of painter Kehinde Wiley with the artist, who speaks of the value of going against the grain (p. 73). Where do you see the value in going against the grain in the "real world"--meaning at work or in business life?

The value of going against the grain in business is emphasizing on the concept of uniqueness. As a result of being for an extended period on the outside, the workers are more likely to develop traits which would take them to be seen as unique and stand out from the rest of the crowd. This uniqueness helps the people to contribute to business by establishing unique means of carrying out business activities. The unique aspects of a business are crucial as the organization can stand out from the rest of the competing companies. Additionally, going against the grain helps individuals to become pain tolerant. The physical pain usually does not compare to the emotional distress.

Conclusion

In conclusion, creating a brighter workforce for the arts is involved with explaining how the technique can provide a work environment that is better. Arts help individuals to think in varied ways about given situations. Through the offering of art in the workplace, it provides people with a way of improving their critical thinking skills. Therefore, when workers and employers illustrate to have critical thinking skills, it may be of great benefit to the organization. Arts have the potential of helping individuals in an organization to bring more success in their workplaces.
