Becoming a Global citizen has a lot of advantages in the modern world. There are several theories that try to define globalism and globalization concepts, making it hard to define. Globalism and Globalization
The difference between globalism and globalization is the globalism describes a world full of inter-connection of networks, that spans a lot of distances and covers continents(Reysen &Miller 2013). It is a concept that tries to understand the modern world and patterns that makes up its connection. Compared to globalization, it has a big contrast given that globalization is the increase or the reduction of globalism. It has focus on shifts of speeds and other various changes.
Benefits of being a Global Citizen
Becoming a global citizen means having freedom and the ability to live in several foreign countries. Experiencing new technologies has impact on the socialization and also professional development. Exposure to the new innovations absent in other parts of the globe is fascinating. Concepts such as mobile banking, security apps among others makes working life convenient and enjoyable(Stuck,2009). Exposure to different academic environment and learning new curriculum gives a person the benefits of thinking behind the horizons, and appreciation of the individual difference. The person is more enlightened, other that from the class work. Meeting people of different languages, and diversity, creates a personality that can blend with people. It fights vices such as racism and xenophobia
Difficulty in defining a Global Citizen
Defining the term global citizenship has been challenging among the theorists whose arguments are based on different perspectives of the term. Theorists who looks at its critical transformative perspective defines it with a consideration of rights and obligations that comes with it.It views it as a transformation a person undergoes wholly. This is different from the theorists that views the aspect of worldmindedness.This perspective is centered on global citizenship as a unity of the world and takes into account the individual responsibilities of every nation as contributing to being a global citizen or not The two examples explains why it is difficult to have a common clear definition of a global citizen. Reysen.M, in an article, appreciates that having a conclusive definition is difficult. The author acknowledges that it describes a person with a global identity. There are several types of global citizens(Reysen & Miller 2013). The clue towards defining it lies in understanding forms such as universal, post national and transitional citizens. It is more than being concerned with international affairs such as environment sustainability and social justice but being engaged in them at an international level too.
Outcomes of Global Citizenship
From Miller's article, the outcomes of global citizenship are many and advantageous. The first one being social justice, environment sustainability, empathy and the increased value of diversity. The two important outcomes are the value of diversity and the environmental sustainability.
an environment that is taken care off is equal to a preserved life. The planet earth has green vegetation that needs preservation to avoid consequences such as increased accumulation of carbon in the atmosphere that may destroy the ozone layer. Improving environment is a global affair that needs the unity of every citizen regardless of the religion code or skin color. A global citizen is educated on the matters that are actually important and needs address. Finally making the environment sustainable is a chance of many people to survive and eradicate poverty and illnesses. An example is the re-planting of trees to reclaim parts eaten up by the desert. Several campaigns have been started. Many international organizations are raising funds to plant trees and help fight things serious crises such as the forest fires in the amazon. Anybody all over the globe is free to contribute and also participate in the research and the education to avoid the fast extinction of species. . This is a personal experience of fight for global sustainable environment as a global citizen. The second most important aspect is the value and respect of diversity. The reason why there is conflict among the people, is the lack of understanding of each other. The traditions and customs that look new to other people, the food and the songs are only exchanged when the people embrace the concept of being global citizens(Stuck, 2009). The freeing of the mind, travelling and learning beyond the practices limited to a geographical is encouraged this appreciation of diversity is achieved, peace and prosperity will follow. The weaker nations will get help from stronger ones and the ills such as social injustice will be fought collectively as a team. Such initiatives have been done by the various partnerships among the nations. The diplomatic relationships have led to the appointment of ambassadors. There are institutes of higher learning inviting young people rom all over the world.

In conclusion, globalization is the extent of globalism. It is difficult to define a global who a global citizen using one perspective. A person needs to look into several perspectives which includes the political set ups and the concern with the global issues. The outcomes of becoming a global citizen are diverse and beneficial, as it brings environment sustainability and cultural tolerance.
