Food is vital in daily activities, and so it is when travelling, it is also susceptible when handled carelessly. Food handling starts when preparing, and the incredible thing behind cooked food is that the most disease-causing organisms cannot withstand the extreme temperatures the foods are subjected to thus making the food safe when served as soon as it is well done (Ellis, 2020). Packaging of food while travelling plays a significant role. It is essential to clean the products if they are not cooked, ensure the cold foods at their temperatures, ensure the hot foods are hot as they should, and lastly, I should ensure while packing the foods are non-perishable or else will take a while before they perish.
Keeping food safety tips in mind comes in second. This should happen by ensuring the hands are clean before taking the food, ensure there is water around, always put into account the two-hour rule that states foods bought in an outlet whether hot or cold should be taken before 2hours is over (Ellis, 2020). Finally, eating right while travelling will ensure the travel is fun and enjoyable. It would be unfortunate having a stomach upset while travelling. Healthy snacks would do well with a tourist or anyone travelling, and on arrival at the destination despite the urge to consume the products offered, it would be ideal if one account of all the food handling safety measures.
Conclusion
In food outlets, one ought to be vigilant for the following three keywords in a menu: fried foods, high sugar and high calories foods. The unfortunate is that all these meals are very enticing to eat and sweet-smelling. Again, the fares are branded in fancy names not unless one is vigilant enough, one would end up consuming some things against their conscious wish. For the fried foods, they are sugar-coated with words like Crunchy, crispy, tempura, battered, breasted, crusted, golden and sizzling (Counsel & Heal 2014). For the High sugar products, they are pimped with names like Teriyaki, BBQ, glazed, sticky, honey-dipped and finally the high calories with words such as Loaded, stuffed, creamy, cheesy, gooey, smothered, melted, rich, velvety (Counsel & Heal, 2014). The healthy foods to look up to that would be ideal and beneficial include; roasted, baked, braised, broiled, poached, rubbed, seared, grilled, steams, sautéed, spiced and seasoned (Counsel & Heal, 2014).
