Introduction
World order is a concept that is often discussed in global politics. The concept has several meanings in different contexts. For instance, some scholars may define world order as the power of a country in controlling world affairs. Other people see it as the maximization by a country of economic, military, and social resources. Though there are many meanings, most scholars agree that the concept influences most aspects of human civilization. It impacts the political, social, and economical way of life of the people. Currently, the United States of America is the leader of the world order (CHUGROV, 2015). It came to this position following the victory of world war two. America helped to shape the way the globe is managed. It single-handedly has a say in most of the issues which affect the human race.
Scholars often allude that for a country to dominate global politics, it needs to be economically and militarily empowered. The united states of America possess these two and thus suitable to create the world order. The concept does not infer that the order will subsist forever. On the contrary, it only brings out the dominant force in the world at a particular time. Moreover, therefore there are emerging powers that are contesting for the position of the global powerhouses. For example, Brazil, India, and China are rising significantly and are a threat to America's status (Wilhelm, 2019). In the current times, the position held by the United States of America as the leader of the world order is under threat. China is challenging this position as they also want to exert their influence in global matters. The communist country has already started showing signs of displacing the United States of America by being economically sound. China has surpassed all other nations in the world by having the most significant purchase power. It puts them in a position that makes them valuable to world economics.
It is a fact that not all world orders last forever, and thus, countries should adequately prepare for this eventuality. The fall of a leader of the world order may result in catastrophic results that are unimaginable. Furthermore, thus the country at the forefront should strive to ensure that this does not happen, but if it does, there are no casualties. Some of the negative results that will come from such a fall include protectionism and populist politics. These two outcomes are not suitable for any country. Protectionist agenda prevents free trade from taking place, and populist politics create hate in countries. For instance, in America today, the rise of President Donald Trump is seen as a decline of America around the globe. The president has put in place policies that limit other country's relations with the US (Zondi, 2018).
Furthermore, in combating this, the Democrats are trying to have trump out of the office. Furthermore, thus, when the policies put by president trump are removed that the US will be able to maintain its sit as a global superpower. All these tactics by democrats try to preserve the status quo. In conclusion, it should be noted that the concept of world order refers to how power is exercised in the world. A country that can achieve success economically, socially, and militarily will always have a say in world meetings. A country like the US, which has been able to be a global leader, should be prepared to accept a new world order which may affect it adversely.
