Globalization is the fore the term used to describe the growth and development of the interdependence of world's cultures, economies and populations, this is brought about by the international trade in terms of goods and services, cross-border investments, and technology. Several states have built economic corporations to facilitate globalization (Eriksen, 2018).
Globalization has created a platform for international integration and in the interaction of people across the world. Background
Globalization is nothing new; for centuries, people have been buying and selling goods at great distances. The ancient trade that involved Silk Road in Central Asia, which connected Europe and China during the mid-ages, is one of the shreds of evidence of the beginning of globalization (Eriksen, 2018). on the other hand, different corporations later evolved into international trade. The experiences of globalization occurred roughly in the year 1914, and towards the end of the 18th century, Britain began to dominate the world's economic and political disciplines (Eriksen, 2018). Many people across the world began to engage in international trade and cross-border investments aided by the media and information technology. Some of the features of current globalization are the same as those of previous globalization before and after the first world war (Eriksen, 2018). The continuity of globalization is seen from the development and involvement of media. The policies and development of media platforms in the past few decades, however, have facilitated an increase in cross-border investments and trade that has made many people believe that the world has entered into a new phase of economic, political and social integration.
Today, information technology is one of the main factors that have much influence globalization; this advancement, in particular, has opened economic opportunities and transformed the social life of many people across the globe. Globalization, therefore, is a process that affects the culture, the environment, economic development, and political systems prosperity (Shabir et al. 2015).
