Security of individual acts as one of the fundamental human rights, and the government must provide security to its people. The government ensures that their nationals and those of others are protected by offering the necessary measures to be able to protect them from the terrorist threat and bringing the perpetrators of terrorism to justice. Terrorism is an act that has been felt in every corner of the globe virtually. The United States has suffered a tragic human loss as a result of a terrorist attack. Terrorism has affected the human rights that resulted in devastating impacts on the enjoyment of human rights, such as the right to life, liberty, and physical integrity of the victims. From the discussion, we first need to understand the meaning of terrorism. This is beacuse the main topic of the discussion is defined as; acts of violence with the main intention of targeting a certain group of people or civilians in the pursuit of the ideological or political aim. Terrorism also can be defined as the criminal activities that are planned to provoke a state through terror attacks for any unjustified reasons.
According to Robert Johnston (2018), different affiliation and ethnicity exist on the view of the act of terrorism. In America, the public label terrorist as an activity that is more applied for the Arab-Americans than the militants and the whites (Robert Johnston, 2018). Different names have been used to refer terrorist such as the mass shooters as described by the Arab ethnicity and Islamist groups to the whites while the whites describe them as a terrorist. This means the two groups are still taking sides on the issue of terrorism in that each of them views the other as an enemy. To the Arabs, the whites are their enemies that practice the act of shooting while the whites Arabs are the terrorist.
There are different types of terrorist activities that have affected the United States of America in history. This discussion is going to cover their prevalence of occurrence together with the insights achieved from the available data (Andrews, 2017). The assassination of Abraham Lincoln acted as the first act of assassination to be experienced in the United States of America in the year 1865 by john Wilkes Booth. Lincoln assassination is the type of terrorist assassination to the right-wing since it had rooted out from the political ideology. The political ideology used by Lincoln was to replace the capitalist system with the socialist system. Lincoln's practices of socialism or communism since the revolutionary system were evidenced in his speech that covers the labor issues and social liberty (Kramer, 2007). The prevalence of terrorist assassinations in history data was highest in the United States of America. This is because after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in the year 8165, many other cases followed such as the assassination of James Garfield in the year 1981. Further, this was followed by other assassinations with small year range of time before they occur.
Religious terrorism is another type of terrorism that has been experienced in the United States of America. Religious terrorism is religiously motivated, and they are part of the kind of terrorism that has been used during the time of the cold world war (Gunning & Jackson, 2011). Religious terrorism can be performed through the suicidal terrorism, martyrdom or the self-sacrifice activities that may inflict injuries or causer life loss to the general public and they can be efficiently be planned, inexpensive and it is also challenging to encounter. The United States of America started experiencing the religious terrorist in the year 1973 attempted bombing of the three Israelites by the Islamic group. Some other activities have been carried out by the Islamic groups as part of the religious terrorist is the assassination of Ali Akbar Tabataba'i. Tabataba'i was the former senior officer in Iranian Shah's SAVAK who was shot by dead by a radical Black Muslim under instructions from Iran. According to the American terrorist historical data, the religious terrorist has got low prevalence as below nineteen, but the religious terrorist has increased.
Insights Gained From the Available Data on the Sources of Terrorism Impacting The U.S.
Anticipation
The United States of America have prepared themselves for the prevention of terrorist activities that may occur. They can identify the specific group that is their enemies or terrorist. Detailed information about the enemies was identified through research such as the influential people, their roles, identify their resources, and the operating environment where the terrorist was situated (Chalk & Kasupski, 2005). The influential people in the terrorist group could be easily identified through a close relationship with the small group such as the activist from the terrorist areas. Knowledge about their resources or the support group helps to try all means to deprive the enemies of acquiring the necessary activities as a means to suppress them. Federal bureau of investigation also plays a role in carrying research about the existence of terrorist groups and also try to find out the support group of the enemy within the American citizens (Bourne & Lisle, 2015).
Routine Security Checks
Routine security checks in areas that are vulnerable to terrorist attacks such as churches, companies, and banks, and other big government parastatals and schools help in terrorist act prevention. The security checks should be supposed to be fixed in sensitive areas such as entrances or any other place that can be conveniently positioned (Acharya & Acharya, 2007). Management of security checks is also essential to help in reading signs of criminal activities that might occur. Through security checks, the security of the people and resources can be maintained through routine security checks technology. It acts as one of the insights that have been developed as a precautionary method to help prevent terrorist acts.
Culture to Fight Terrorism
Through continuous efforts to fight terrorism in the United States of America, it had become a culture that spread to other parts of the world. This is because one nation cannot stand alone against the fight on terrorism since it had spread to other art s of the world. The fight on extremism also has been imitated since it paves the way for the creation of terrorist acts (Eagles, 2017). Unity on terrorism fight will help reduce human suffering and death that result from the terrorist activities since terrorist resource data shows that a large number of people have lost their lives, and others have been inflicted injuries. Therefore a culture of the global terrorist fight is an insight that has been developed in the United States of America to help in the terrorist fight in the world.
Conclusion
Terrorism is an act that needs to be eliminated through the application of all the possible techniques worldwide as it has affected people lives. From the terrorist resource data that covers the terrorist acts since from the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in the year 1865 shows a large number of human loses due to terrorism that resulted in the death of politicians, children, and activist. Therefore precautionary measures have been developed since that period to try all the way possible to end terrorism. More significant insights have also designed as a knowledge that has been learned out from the occurrence of the terrorist activities that have been applied by the United States of America such as anticipation, routine security checks, and global culture to fight terrorism. They play the role of trying to suppress the power o terrorism around the world by identifying and eliminating their support, such as financial and identification of their battleground as well as their influential leaders.
