The social problems noticed in this movie include poverty, rape, physical and emotional mistreat and also fraud. Precious mother Mary hates her a lot because she claims that Precious snatched her husband who happens to be the father of precious. Mary watches her husband rape Precious her daughter and she does not question. The issue of divorce between Mary and the father to Precious makes her get depressed to be in poverty and depressed.

Some of the theories which apply in this movie include John Piaget theory on cognitive development and also Vygotsky's theory on Psychological Development. The theories state that there is a need for children to build and rebuild knowledge for them to learn and they also require the opportunities to interact with their peers and physical environment (Rubin, 2012) .Ms. Rain, having the understanding of how to implement learning to pupils who are overage in terms of learning which is unmold, she makes the learners read and write for them to understand the sounds which are familiar in everyday usage of language.

The aspect of the conflict is evident in the movie. Precious has a conflict with her immediate environment. She is raped by her own father and also she is not in terms with her mother Mary. Precious is illiterate and she is heavy hence having a conflict with her peers who segregate her. She feels that she is not fit to be in society. Precious has never experienced parental love and so she has a conflict with her personality.

The biases issue is the skin color of the actors. Precious who is portrayed as Gabourey Sidibe is black while the second group of actors is light skinned. When Precious withdrawals to the world of fantasy while escaping the terrible life, she has a boyfriend who is light skinned (Fowdur, Kadiyali, & Prince, 2012). Skin color since slavery has been used in the caste system to divide the black. The people who have darker skin antagonize more racism and have less opportunity.

Conclusion

To conclude, I think the movie synopsis on Precious guides the reader on a more important understanding of the film on Precious. The reader gets to know the social problems that the society of today faces including immoralities like the rape of young girls and racism. The movie analysis also gives a theoretical framework concerning the film hence one can think critically on the issues which are occurring in the movie.
