In most instances, many white criminals may escape being caught and implicate the African American if he or she is in the scene because the Whites even those holding more prominent positions in the organizations believe that by virtue of being an African one is a criminal. The writer also suggests that at some moments, he was mistaken for a burglar. This shows the way Whites sees Black Americans. They are regarded as people who are associated with bad things and unfortunate occurrences in other words, and they are considered inferior.
