Based on the DNA Capsim game, there are several decisions and approaches that I made to benefit each department. The primary sections of focus, in this case, were such as production, research, marketing, and finance. The production section was a major component in the game where I had to make a decision, such as adding new products and update products. The decision that I made on increasing and calculation the product focuses on the performance and budgets. When adding the products, I had to distribute the products according to the required amount equally. Moreover, I decided to calculate the demand to identify the rate of product sales, which is essential in the game.
The other decision mainly focuses on the research part of the game. The primary choice was to identify the competition in the game and the products for each department. It was important for me to analyze the strategies of improving the sales of each department. Also, the other decision was to establish the possible profits and sales in the game to identify the probability of winning. The other decision is to set an analysis on the automation on the possible percentage of products in the factory or to be outsourced.
Marketing is another aspect of the game that I had to establish some decisions. The primary choice was toestimate the demands in the business, which will help in being aware of the sales. The other decision is to keep track of the market growth of each department to analyze the probability of winning the game. Moreover, I decided to be aware of the competitor's prices in each department to enable the establishment of sales analysis. The sales margin was another aspect of the game that I decided to expound and keep track of in each department.
The finance of each department was another essential section of the game. In this case, I decided to establish a target of at least five euros in cash. The other decision is to boost my finances in the game through the borrowing of long-term loans to each department. The other decision is to repay the loans given of each department at the round of five to eight with surplus cash in hand to avoid losing the game. The other decision is to achieve a ratio of between one and two of leverage. Moreover, to achieve between thirty days and ninety days of working capital. The decisions highlighted will further enable each department to achieve a positive position at the end of the year.
Several features help explain the interconnection of the departments in the game and their relationship with the real organization. The primary factor is sales, which appear in every department. The factor also explains the connectivity of the departments in terms of the existence of products in the game. In this case, the products are sold to achieve sales in the business based on the activities in the game. The other connectivity of the departments is profit and loss achievement. Both departments in the game and the real organizations get connected as they experience profit and losses events in their operations.
The other feature is the establishment of strategies and goals of the departments in the game. Each department encompasses goals and objectives, which enables the smooth running of the business to achieve success. The other feature is that the departments are interested in the demands and customers' needs in the game. It is similar to the real organizations where they seek to achieve customer's interest in their products or meet their desires. The other factor is that the departments in the games faced challenges that are similar to real-world organizations.
My result in the game differs from the competitor's outcomes, were in the first round, I tested the game to achieve a profit of about three million dollars. The other result established is achieving a low margin since I focused on all products, which is different when it comes to the Globe's results. The other achievement is we attained high sales budgets and pleasing promotions. Also, another different result that I accomplished is the increase in profit margin, which was different from the one of the competitors. In this case, the stock price of the business had to be increased, which was one of the primary achievements of my case.
In round three, unlike the competitors, I had a slight decrease in the stock price of eleven dollars. It wasa platform for achieving a huge investment to win the game.In round four, there was a slight loss of one million five hundred thousand, which affected the stock price by a decrease of two dollars. Round five was a bit different from the other rounds, where there was an increase that imitated the results of the Globe by achieving a profit of four million and a stock price increase of eight dollars. Round six also displayed a positive result when compared to the competitors, where there was an increase in profit of eighteen million, and the stock price increased by sixty percent. The significant differences observed from the two cases are such as profit variation, stock pricing, profits, and losses variation.
The wrong strategy that I took in each department is the lack of frequent checks of sales, which led to poor performance in the game. The possible solution for the problem in assessing the sales regularly to identify the success limitations of the departments. The other mistake done was that I poorly calculated the production, which affected the forecasting of the DNA Capsim game. In this case, there is a need for applying other approaches to calculating the production that will provide a reasonable and sensible analysis of the departments. Moreover, the demand calculation was also poorly done, which resulted in some of the undesirable outcomes. It can get solved by computation of proper methods for calculating the numerical data in this case.
On the other hand, I increased the automation of products rapidly, which is against the success of the business. It can get solved by utilizing and adequately automizing the products to achieve a reasonable and pleasing result. The other mistake was lacking the control of increasing capacity in each round, which leads to undesirable outcomes. It is possible to solve the problem by setting targets and limits for the increasing capacity in each department to achieve desirable outcomes. Also, I lacked to keep track of the customer's preference, which is a primary mistake that leads to the poor performance of the business. The only way to solve the problem is to analyze the desires of the customers and set strategies to meet the needs. The other error is the lack of frequentchecking of the report in each round. It can get solved by appointing individuals who can be checking the results every round without missing any part.
Several cases show the road map of the products in the case of the DNA Capsim game, which is visible from the competitor's perspectives and my department. The primary product strategy, in this case, is the market. The competitors had a sensible market for their products, which enhanced the increase in their sales. The other aspect is the vision of the business for improving the market to achieve higher sales. Setting relevant ideas and approaches to the market enabled each dq1epartment to generate and achieve success. Based on the market, the departments had consulted and clarified with the prospects on the possible approaches of achieving the customer's desires, which gets displayed by the successful results. The departments had well-established markets which aimed at benefiting the customers to benefit them in terms of profits consequently.
Conclusion
Another product strategy is the goals set by the business departments. In this case, the business departments had distinct goals that led them to success. The departments had to measure the success for them to grow and become suitable in the business. The other aspect that enhanced leadership cohesion, where it enhanced proper and appropriate goal settings that lead to the success of the departments and competitors. Also, the knowledge that I possessed enhances the proper establishment of quality goals that lead to pleasing outcomes. Moreover, goals were relevant for success since it sets the key reasons for the success of the business of each department and the competitors.
