Leadership is very crucial in any healthcare institution in order to ensure that health professionals are delivering effective and efficient healthcare. Leadership is considered to be a practical life skill that involves one's capability to lead and guide other people in an institution (Spillane, 2012). The patient's personal experience within a healthcare facility tends to be highly dependent, particularly on the type of leadership that exists within the facility. Therefore, healthcare leaders have to ensure that they have maintained total control of the activities taking place in the hospitals. In order to enhance the actual patient personal experiences within the healthcare facilities, the leaders have to implement various measures that include, first, maintaining a high level of transparency. Transparency is very crucial in every institution across the globe since it helps to improve the level of trust or confidence that the customers have towards an organization (Conger, 2015). The leaders should encourage healthcare professionals to maintain transparency by opening up to the clients and interacting freely with them. The healthcare professionals may also promote transparency by allowing the patients to ask questions and also explain to them the kind of treatment they are likely to receive and what is needed of them (Angraal, Krumholz, & Schulz, 2017). Maintaining transparency will play a key role in enabling the patients to feel contented with the services they receive within the facility.
Secondly, improving the level of care that the patients receive within the facility. The nature of services offered by any institution or organization tends to play a key role in determining the client's level of satisfaction. In a healthcare facility, the leaders should ensure that the type of services and care that the patients receive are meeting their needs and preferences. The level of care being provided can be improved through various ways that include hiring qualified and well-trained staff who are in a good position to offers quality care to the patients (Graban, 2018). if the patients are satisfied with the nature of care that they receive, they are likely to refer other patients to the facility. Secondly, leaders can also streamline the structure or nature of doing things within the facility. The healthcare structure and procedures of delivering care may undermine the quality of care. The leaders should ensure that they streamline the service delivery process, for instance, by making it efficient in order to ensure that the patient is able to get quality care.
