Introduction
The employees at the Hilton hotel have an affective commitment to the company due to various reasons. Foremost, the most attractive Hilton senior leadership business immersion tends to attract the majority of employees as it connects the employees to the outside world. Most of the employees would commit to staying in the organization despite many challenges they face in life just to remain loyal to the brand. However, the benefits of the organization are so tempting that no employee may be willing to leave.
Continuance Commitment
Sometimes the employees may tend to remain in the organization for fear of venturing into other fields or searching for a job elsewhere. Globally, the Hilton hotel has approximately 178 thousand employees, and the figure is constant, as exit and new recruits are making an average of 168 thousand as per 2019 (Brownlee, 2019). These can be ascertained from the growing number of the hotel worldwide.
Normative Commitment
According to cone communication millennial on employee engagement, the study unravels that 76% of the Hilton hotel consider the environment and social network determine their commitment to the company. These people believe in the corporate social responsibility of the company and decide to continue working at the corporate to impact the social life of the people around them. Besides, nearly two-thirds of the majority of employees would not take a job with irresponsible companies that do not take good care of the employees and the environment.
Exit
Since employees have different expectations from the organization, some will tend to exit when their needs are not met. Some may feel undervalued in their profession and exit the company. At the Hilton hotel, only 8% of the employees tend to exit at any given point due to various reasons, such as lack of independence at the workplace. Voice
When it comes to the decision making process, an employee may engage an active voice in an attempt to make their contribution valid to the situation. In most cases, the individual trying to push for a given idea is met with lots of negativity, thus leading to a negative impact on the general performance of the department. Voice of the CEO and the managers are heard in most circumstances even if they are not leading in the right direction.
Loyalty
Currently, Hilton hotel has a brand loyalty honors geared towards their loyal customers and employees. For this reason, most of the employees tend to remain faithful to the brand even if they are not happy with the company management. However, the development opportunities given to employees keep them loyal to the company.
Neglect
The employee's neglect in the organization can be caused by varied reasons ranging from non-effective benefits like low wage and overtime benefits. The action usually leads to taint on the company image as most of the customers will view the employees' neglect as irresponsible. On the other hand, employees who possess a high commitment to their performance decrease the chances of negligence in the organization.
Conversely, citizens are portrayed as the high performing employees in the organization. Hilton hotel management tends to highly regard these people to perform essential roles in the organization. They tend to make the organization function to go as planned. However, lone wolves in the organization tend to possess a low level in the organization but are highly useful to achieve the objectives of the organization. Also, apathetic employees tend to exert little effort towards achieving the organization though they have little impact on the overall output.
Typically, employees may be engaged in many activities to the extent that they start daydreaming at the workplace. These may arise from distracting thoughts while at work, thus lowering the general performance. However, there is a time when the employees will tend to use the organization resources to do their activities. For instance, using office internet to browse and interact with other people on the social web. These may lead to missing meetings that show severe neglect in the part of the employee ("Human resource planning hotel Hilton assignment | Locus assignment," 2017). Also, neglect can lead to voluntary quitting of some of the employees when they feel that the activities are not conforming to their values and expectations.
