Gabriel sings about the judgment day to warn Troy to prepare for it. The sound is therefore appropriate for somber mood for anyone to reflect on themselves.

In scene four he has won the case and has been given a promotion to be a truck driver. The happy upbeat by Andrew creates an atmosphere of joyous mood and somewhat a celebration for the small wins that Troy one of the characters gets. It is a fast and lively beat which sets a mood of happiness and victory. It can be used when Troy is moving with excitement to break the news to his other acquaintances who are black as he is. It is a moment of happiness for Troy because he is one among many black men who have been given promotion and therefore the soundtrack best sets the mood.
