Introduction

Il Barbiere di Siviglia is a hilarious opera in two performances by Gioachino Rossini, an Italian composer. Rossini's opera is apparently one of the most regularly acted comic operas in the repertoire. The Metropolitan opera presentation had some memorable moments despite some disappointing acts. The intents of Il Barbiere di Siviglia is to make the audience laugh while narrating a romantic story. The narrative is about Count Almaviva who is traveling to Siviglia to follow Rosina, the woman of his dreams. The only challenge is that Rosina stays with Dr. Bartolo who also has plans of marrying her, consequently, Count gets assistance from Figaro who is the city's barber, and one of his clients happens to be Dr. Bartolo. Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia is probably one of the commonly known comic opera. Moreover, several recognizable melodies have been recognized at the international level primarily due to the opening drumming song of the bragging Figaro, the barber of the title. It is also necessary to record that the opera provides an ideal platform for other vocalists to thrilling ensemble composition as well as the natural talent for breezy comedy that has long been equaled. Rossini uses the unique approach of writing that makes him stand out. For instance, he increases sound volume progressively in steps. Subsequently, the Rossini Crescendo tends to electrify both audience and orchestra at the same time.

Regardless, of its hilarious performance, ridiculous swagger, and excellent wordplay the Il Barbiere di Siviglia effectively presented the social messages which were essential to its earliest viewers. For instance, one of the conferred messages was the unreasonableness and uncertainty of the division of social classes. Notably, this predicament was of great interest in society whereby most of its occupants, apart from the nobility and clergy, observed few legal, economic, or political rights. According to Beaumarchais, the composer of the play, a society that only thinks about wealth and birth instead of inventiveness was incongruous. That is why Beaumarchais created Figaro, a servant who is portrayed to be intelligent and can do a lot of things as opposed to individuals with immense wealth and higher ranks in the society. For instance, the marriage of Figaro was triumph moment for a person who is barely recognized in the society.

As a consequence, Rossini composed the, The Barber of Seville into an opera in 1816 which became to be much loved and a favorite opera for the famously loyal audience during that time. Just like several other great composers, Rossini was born at the right time after the death of Wolfgang Mozart in 1792 a time when Rossini was born. Rossini composed ten operas when he was at the age of seven, and he became famously known to be a great composer in the opera buffa style. As noted in this work, his piece, Il Barbiere di Siviglia was composed based on the play by Beaumarchais. However, before Rossini could create his opera, another composer known as Paisiello had initially created a successful opera from the same narrative which also was a hit. After Paisiello's fans learned of the Rossini's new opera, they planned to cause distractions during its premiere. During the opening night, the concert was disordered, and the opera's future appeared to be coming to an end very soon.

However, immediately after its official release Rossini's Barber started becoming a hit. As a result, it defeated Paisiello's version, and within no time it had spread across Europe with concerts from London to St. Petersburg. Nevertheless, it made history for being the first opera to be composed in Italian in New York. It goes without saying that Rossini became the most famous composer across the universe. The reason why I like Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia is that it is the perfect operatic comedy than any other opera ever recorded during that time. It is arguably for this reason that this piece became one of the most sorts out operas of all time. Moreover, I like Rossini's work because of his lightest and most joyous music ever composed in opera.

Conclusion

To sum up, a majority of operas across the globe presents the topics of sorrow, love, and even death, in other words, they constitute of tragic drama. After watching Il Barbiere di Siviglia, one will without a doubt burst with laughter despite the negative narratives. There are various comical points in this opera that leaves the audience in stitches in every performance. As portrayed in this work Rossini is a musical genius since the overture of his opera is very prominent. Nonetheless, his songs are soothing and bright in such a way that the opera's narration just flows so clearly. His great composing skills makes him admired by both his fans and other composers. He became to be commonly known as an operatic superstar due to his best-known work Il Barbiere di Siviglia that made him famous in the entertainment scene.
