Furthermore, there was ensuring the organization achieved optimal runtimes by analyzing the data associated with its operations. Moreover, an analysis of equipment was used to ensure optimum productivity by the organization (McCain, 2015). There was a collection of data about the organization's various operations, which was used to analyze the productivity associated with equipment utilization. Supply chain optimization was the other because Teradata was used to manage the integrated data into the organization's operations. Real-time performance measurement was the other way Teradata was used to collect data associated with the organization's operations (Kim et al., 2017). Lastly were raw material forecasts, where the demand for potatoes could be ascertained in advance with reliability.
Source of Competitive Advantage
Therefore, the competitive advantage of using Teradata was providing real-time data analysis of the organization's operations. All information needed about the procedures was available from a central database (Berisha-Shaqiri, 2015). The managers could, therefore, be asked about anything that concerned their territories. There was quality assurance, consequently, which enhanced the organization's competitive advantage.
Application of Business Intelligence
Business intelligence involves the analysis of data that helps business executives in making decisions for organizations. Considering IBM, the business intelligence services would work in the hospitality industry where McCain Foods operates by analyzing data about the demand schedules and the forecasts associated with raw material demand (Korte, Ariyachandra, T, & Frolick, 2013). From the results obtained from the business intelligence, executives in the hospitality industry will make decisions consistent with their operations' growth in the long run.
