Introduction

Biological sciences have always influenced my understanding of the components associated with life. Through these sciences, particularly human physiology, the processes and complexities of life are always amazing. From a young age, I loved reading books and stories on different aspects of life. One day, my mother who was a teacher at a local school brought some books concerning the Human Body. While the books were on the shelves, I decided to read from which I finally developed an interest in understanding the concepts of biological sciences. It is from this interest that I desire to understand the background of the problems which are conveyed through biological science on molecular levels including cancer, diseases as well as genetic disorders.

I had an opportunity to work at a local hospital as an intern. While on my internship, I experienced the elementary roles of the A&E department in addition to live surgeries. Besides, the internship provided an opportunity to interact with several patients from varying backgrounds. Moreover, the interactions with patients enhanced my development of communications skills as well as the requirements of patients. This enabled me to practically familiarize with the treatment processes on various diseases which are mainly associated with the human body.

Besides, I had the opportunity of offering home care services to a patient who was suffering from posterior brainstem circulation and was in the recovery process from the locked-in syndrome. The condition had exposed his body to partial paralysis. As a result, I helped the patient in the physiotherapy processes on a weekly basis. Through this hands-on experience, I acquired knowledge of how the human body functions.

Moreover, I went through a summer school program that was organized by the University of Oxford. This gave me an overview of what the university and academic setting appear to be. Accordingly, the opportunity enabled me to understand how poor conditions can easily contribute to ill-health. As a result, the experience in the summer school program influenced my passion for studying biological sciences due to the importance they hold in preventing diseases.

Importantly, I actively participate in different sporting and entertainment activities such as playing basketball and the guitar. For the past four years, I have been playing basketball in the school team. Through my enhanced love for the sport, I won the Best Player of the Year reward alongside a school league trophy together with the school team. This has significantly enabled me to maintain and balancing healthy work-life. Accordingly, playing basketball has aided in improving my capacity of working in situations that are highly pressurizing. Significantly, the awards and recognitions acquired through the sports have enabled me to understand how to handle problems as a team and leader.

Recently, I discovered the magic in the world. This leaves me to reflect on the psychological aspects encountered in life. I value sharing with different persons the wonderful moments I encounter in biological sciences. This is through understanding how technology may be used in improving human life and treatment techniques. Consequently, I recognize the wonders related to strategies of preventing different medical conditions from occurring.

Therefore, by studying for the Biological Sciences, I will get the opportunity to work in this exciting and crucial field in the world. Additionally, the university program on human biology will enhance my mind to be ready for working in challenging conditions. I am highly determined to realize my ambitions in improving human life. I feel to have the required dedication and organization regarding skills for managing the needs of the course to qualify as a better biological scientist. I hope to lead a successful life in my biological studies and research. Thus, the degree program will enable me in attaining my maximum potential in the field.
