The demands made by the populists were reasonable and rational responses to the problems facing the populist constituency. They were tired of being left out i then matters considering their constituency, thus speaking out and making those demand for the sake of their people and families made them stand out and ready for action. The first demand was about finance and how the government looked into it and acted accordingly. They demanded a flexible, safe, and sound national currency which should be provided only by the government. The other currencies that were issued they refused to work with them until the government provided them with the one they asked for. That included "free unlimited coinage of silver and gold."

Also, they demanded tax reduction to not more than 2 percent per year to enhance fair tax collection for the people who did not earn much money. They also demanded that the revenues which the state gets to be specifically for the government's expenses and should be administered honestly and economically. They equally demanded that the government should establish banks used for postal savings to provide security to the deposits of the people who were earning and also to help in exchange facilitation.

Lastly, they also demanded that all the means of transportation (railways) and communication should be owned by the government for the benefits and interest of the people in the constituency. I second the statement above since it would be easier to access transportation and communication at a lower and fair price if the government owns it. The populists demanded that the land owned by aliens; that is the government should take the people who are not from their nation and given to the people who are the real settlers in the nation. I agree with this demand since it shows that the aliens who owned land in that constituency were either not good settlers or gave the actual settlers a hard time. Hence, their demand was for the benefit of the people to remove fear and unfairness. These demands were reasonable enough to help the Populists to overcome the challenges they underwent in the Populist constituency.

They hesitated to enter into imperialism because they doubted that they could continue the vision of America of Manifest Destiny whereby it included the manifestation of the goals and objectives which would help them to succeed in their endeavors. However, due to the Spanish-American war, an opportunity was given to the Americans because they got a hold on Guam, the Puerto-Rico from the Spaniards, and the Philippines. Hence, allowing them to gather all the raw materials they needed for their industrialization and increasing their flourishing economy.

America's imperial aspirations and actions led to positive aspects such as the introduction to the technology helped in practicing good hygiene and health due to the discoveries which were made in medicine. America's power during this time rose and became largely involved in the affairs of the world. America was termed even as an empire due to how it grew and rose at once.

It is said that the white Americans tried to civilize areas such as Puerto Rico and the Philippines and took over Samoa and Guam to get more territories and grow their military audience. They did all this thinking that they were helping these countries and their citizens, claiming that they were not doing anything wrong. They conquered these territories in the name of civilization, but they wanted to expand their territories and have strong military audiences and bases and being ready for any war.

The events in the Philippines bolstered an anti-imperialist sentiment in the U.S.; it is because, the U.S. tried to take their territories by giving the excuse of civilization, but in a real sense, they had their motives. The Filipinos were justified in resisting the American occupation in their territory. The reason being they refused to accept the civilization the Americans offered them.

I also think the Philippine acted right when they declared war on the Americans when they tried to fight for their freedom. Although it led to the loss of many soldiers and casualties, they did whatever it took to break free from the Americans, thus, gaining their independence.
