Introduction
Kali-yuga is a period in the Hindu scriptures characterized by the several negative attributes. Lord Krishna had pronounced that these dark days would last for 432000 years. To some extent, I compare the age of Kali-yuga to the Christians' era of end times, depicted in their holy scripture. I believe that we are currently living in the age of Kali-yuga. The paper is set to create vivid illustrations on why I think that we are in the age of Kali Yuga.
Firstly, people in the modern day live their life with so much unhappiness, and no one seems to be fulfilled regardless of the material possessions that they have all struggled to gather. The emergence of technology has a created a life full of confusion, where no one seems to recognize what is right and what is not. Immorality has been on the rise with a rapid decline in the given virtues. Men have changed their good qualities for the bad.
Whenever I look around, I get to see many people who do not believe in God or religion. They have chosen atheism rather than religion. It is the time where people do not believe, neither do they read the scriptures. Some get to read the scriptures for them to create a reputation. The religious leaders have themselves become greedy with no intention of serving the needy. They have put first their material desires more than anything else, leaving those who are in the quest for religion to be much confused and lost.
It is at this age that the lifespan is so much reduced. People die at a decidedly younger age due to the several factors such as pollution and diseases. People have also become less energy with lands becoming less productive. Issues such as global warming and climate change have made it difficult for the survival of man and the other creations. Those in authority have also closed the gaps between them and the subjects by behaving in a very degrading manner, engaging in practices such as corruption and malice to acquire more material wealth. The rich have continued to stay rich whereas the poor continue to be poor.
The several factors have corrupted the family as an institution. Sex has become a significant determinant of the several unions, with men and women failing to meet their obliged roles within the family setup. It is still in the same age that the different family values have been done away with, leaving the various family members with no proper guidelines. Law and justice are now owned by the influential wealthy individuals who are in the position to buy them. The poor are therefore left to experience all sorts of injustices.
In this age, people have been made to believe that you have to speak in some manner to be considered educated. In the real sense, the actual value of education has been lost ads the society is full of arrogance and ignorance. Hypocrisy and falsehood have taken over the world.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I believe that the delusional age we are living in right now is the Kali-Yuga. The age where people are so much distracted by other things to the extent that they cannot concentrate on God.it is a period of darkness characterized by so much immoralities. We are in the age which would otherwise be considered by the Christians as the end times.it is the age of Kali Yuga.
