Human population increase is turning into an enormous issue in the world today. The rate of population increase is expanding quickly. The reason behind it bringing worry is based on the way it has influenced the environmental, economic, and social aspects of the world. The developing populace prompts a few ecological issues and also social issues. The population growth has led to overpopulation it is attributed to many factors. The increased population translates to scramble for the minimal available resources by individuals as well as space. The population increase is caused by some factors which in turn has an impact on the different nations as they struggle to sustain their citizens. Countries are experiencing issues adapting to their present population increase and battling with their economies. The nations that are most affected are the developing; an example of a developing country is Nigeria and experiences poor sanitation, high levels of illiteracy, inadequate waste management, poverty, wars, and many others. The paper is going to discuss the impact of human growth by analyzing greenhouse gases and how they contribute to global warming, challenges posed by these emissions and ways to control population growth at the global level.
As a species, human beings have been contributors to the increase in greenhouse gasses. Our greenhouse gas emissions are a significant factor in the increase in temperature known as global warming (MacMillan, 2018). With the gradual rise in entire temperature, ecosystems could be wiped out, with whole species going extinct. Increased temperatures can lead to the melting of ice caps. This results in the raising of sea levels around the world much, causing some areas to sink entirely underwater destroying the vegetation and causing the forced migration of many species. I believe we have a responsibility to take care of our earth to preserve it for as long as possible, and this includes taking precautionary measures and limiting activities that only serve to do environmental harm.
Scientists begin to see evidence of carbon dioxides heat-trapping nature" in the mid-nineteenth century, the industrial revolution resulted in a large increase in the production of greenhouse gasses by humans. Through the use of machinery, lack of knowledge, and continued deforestation, greenhouse gasses have tremendously increased and impacted the earth's surface and its atmosphere (MacMillan, 2018). This increase has led to a one-degree centigrade increase in the temperature of the planet. This increase in temperature is a direct effect of the multiplication of greenhouse gasses humans have produced primarily in industrialized nations. There is evidence existing in the form of deforestation caused by humans which makes for fewer carbon stores, thus allowing the carbon to seep into the atmosphere at unprecedented levels (Longobardi, Montenegro, Beltrami, & Eby, 2016). Preservation measures such as planting more trees can aid in the rebuild of carbon stores which will decrease the amounts of carbon seeping into the atmosphere, or at least slow down the process. Hence, a high level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the key to global warming. The gas is emitted by human beings which makes them contributors to global warming.
There is a large amount of scientific and political uncertainty that exists when it comes to the question on humankind's role in this increase in temperature through the overproduction of greenhouse gasses. The greenhouse effect has increased the temperature in the earth due to the depletion of the ozone layer (Shive, 2016). Also, it is allowing dangerous sun rays to reach the earth surface. The earth temperature has been something that is having an upward trend. The temperature has increased from 0.2 degrees to 0.4 in the last two decades researcher anticipate that is the gas is not going to be controlled then it is going to increase(Song, Wang & Tang).
The government should introduce regulation on carbon emissions are an important step and should be carefully studied and researched. If there is a complete shutdown and change in the current way of life, there will be many problems, so it is essential for the government to take preventative measures and make new resources and sources of energy available (Longobardi et al., 2016). Easing the world into a less wasteful state is essential, because otherwise many things can go wrong. If things like public transportation and solar power become more accessible, things will move smoothly from where we are now to where we should be (Shive, 2016). There should be more government regulations on carbon emissions; however, there also needs to be government funded solutions to the problems that will arise from our changing way of life.
The population is considered as the total inhabitants that have particular geography. A population can be of anything like animals, insects, crops, grasses, and humans. Whenever there is an increase or decrease in a population from a certain level, problems are caused (Longobardi et al., 2016). Population growth can be explained in the sense of the decline of improvement in the size of populations of the living species comprising the human beings. Birth and death, as it exists in any other population is an important part of human populations. Human population has seen a rapid increase from the last few decades, and presently it has become necessary for the humans to control their population to save the damage and increasing the sources of food availability. Continuous growth of population can be a problem, and thus it is imperative to develop an understanding of managing the population growth so that everyone can be benefitted. Although human beings have made progress in developing artificial sources for food, these sources are not enough to meet up the future food requirements of the increasing human population (Shive, 2016). Nigeria is one of the nations that has seen an increase in human population in the last decade.
To improve the condition of the people living in Nigeria and the entire globe, there is need to control the human population. Hence, for the reason of developing the living standards of the human population and stopping the degradation of natural resources immediately, there is a strong need of controlling the human population as a way of managing the increasing human population (Shive, 2016). Population control is the method that is utilized for controlling the type, number and location of the people that are inhibiting the earth. Human population is continuously growing, although producing children is the fundamental right of nations, if a life with better lifestyle is desired, and then there must be a check on the populations' growth rate (Whyte, Feng &Cai, 2015). It is the primary method of controlling the human population in the globe.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the human population has increased in the last two decades. Not only in Nigeria but the entire globe is experiencing the same. The increase in human population is one of the facilitators to global warming which is making the world almost an impossible place to live. It is vital to control the human population as it will be one of the ways to mitigate global warming. Also, monitoring of the population is going to improve the living standards of people among other factors.
