An individual destination is determined by their ambition, hard work, aggressiveness determination, and inward motivation. However, this did not prove to be true in my life experience. Throughout my life, I have had a desire to live a life full of comforts and free of poverty in my later days in life when I will also be having my family. My personal motivation was catalyzed by the nature of the family that I came from. My family experienced a lot of problems as far as meeting the basic needs was concerned. I cannot count the many times that we slept without taking any meal in a day. Both of my parents had no source of income and that they only depend on casual work like digging the shamba and washing clothes. These manual jobs were not predicted, such that at times they could not get any, leaving us to sleep angry. Poverty was well defined by referring to our family. Because of that condition, therefore, I made a decision to change the livelihood of my family and to the extended family at large when I grow up.

The journey of my education was full of challenges, but I work very hard, destined to change my future life. I remember very vividly how I could stay home the whole term while in secondary school because of school fees. Nevertheless, my ambition and determination were never swayed in fact, I became more ambitious and focused irrespective of the hard times I went through, hoping that my future will be bright. My future hopes became more promising when I qualify to join the university after sitting my form four exams. I was admitted to Harvard University to pursue a degree in economics. I join the university with a lot of hopes and future illusion that immediately I fished I will get a well-paid job that I will use to change the condition of my family.

It took me four years to finish my degree at university. My family and I celebrated when I graduated from the university full of hopes that I will bring restoration to the poverty condition of my family. I, too, believe that I will soon get a good well- paid job that I will actually use to change my family welfare.

The turns of events went against my expectations. I waited and waited to get a job but alas! Two years elapse without testing any single salary. I became a joke of the whole village, and that drove me to be so much depressed and dejected. At the beginning of the third year, I got my first job with microfinance as a loan officer. The job was so demanding and full of pressure from the top management. My salary was in the form of commission, but that did not worry me because I had a lot of expectations to disburse many loans.

Notably, the first month elapses without giving out any single loan and therefore earning nothing that month. I was given a lot of pressure from my boss, characterized by insults and noise. The job became another stress to me, and I felt like keeping up in life because all my expectation was jut but futile. While in that job, I was staying with my uncle, who was hustling too, just like me, but he was better because he was earning a fixed salary. Life became harder, and I felt I was giving more burden to my Uncle. I waited for an improvement in my job, but it never comes even after working for 8 months, I remember the highest commission I earned was only 80 dollars that never again meet my needs and my family at large. I finally decided to quit the job since I felt it was adding me more stress ranging from pressure and insult from the bosses and working on foot to the job. Moreover, sleeping without food many times because of a lack of money. The challenges experienced in the previous job, therefore, ignited my ambition to come and pursue a related bachelor course.
