Women tend to be involved in electoral politics than men but do not hold as many official political positions (590). Besides, the gender gap is a measurable difference between the political attitudes and voting behavior of women and men and is continuously advancing (592). Women votes are key deciding factors in several elections, and younger women identified as feminist's impact their behaviors of voting. Women must work together to maintain and increase their rights in government. Women's issues are unequally represented under United States Law.

The state affects women through the marriage institution. Child support and alimony after divorce are issues associated with marriage (596). Also, public policy is used to determine the privileges and rights of the individuals and can be used contrary to reinforce gender inequality systems (591). However, United States citizens live in extreme poverty with minimum wages. There are numerous wrong stereotypes about welfare on women that they are lazy and bear children to increase their checks of protection. Generally, women face minimum wages and have to balance work and motherhood, making it challenging to get enough amount of work.

Additionally, the criminal justice system indicates that women constitute a more significant amount of victims and a lower proportion of individuals arrested for committing crimes. Non-violent crimes and property are crimes that women mainly commit (602). Also, eighty percent of crimes violent crime is committed by males, which is exemplary of the crime commission gender gap. Also, women tend to be discriminated after release from prison, especially the poor and the black Africans who even face imposes statutory bans in specific firms. However, the state established a court system to uphold the law by deciding conflicts that are unlawful and determining penalties for individuals who break the rule. Thus, in response, the self-respect for imprisoned women bill was presented to address unjust and inhumane situations that incarcerated women regularly face.

The military is a central government component used to defend against conflict and comprises of armed forces (605). The military is intensely tied to the system of the economy. Sexual violence, in contrast to women in the military, is a dominant challenge. Military culture frequently standardizes violence, and women who enter the military are abuse survivors (606). Also, sexual assault from supervisors and peers, and insufficient support causes premature separation from military services as they feel betrayed. Military feminist has emerged and tends to reject humanitarianism rhetoric and emphasizes the lethal abilities of servicewomen. However, the state is a powerful institution that impacts daily life facets through lawmaking in the government, and its use of military impacts people's lives.
