Introduction

On his February 4, State of the Union Address, the President highlighted his government achievements. He compared them with what he had promised and noted that he had achieved most of the promises. Trump referred to the speech as the great America Comeback. He showed in different ways in which the country has improved from the previous eight years administration. Focusing on the level of employment, he said that jobs are booming. The level of unemployment even to the black Americans had significantly reduced. The President said that immediately he took office, he slashed several job-killing regulations. Unlike in his campaigns, he said that every citizen of whichever race, color or religion was entitled to employment. The President focused mainly on the economy how it has improved. The economy then led to the poverty levels among all the citizens reducing. Generally, he said the net worth of an average income earner had grown. On matters of security, he commented that the country is secure. The Military is rebuilt and the borders are secured. The President talked about the pride of the country being restored and the state of the union becoming stronger than ever before ("READ: President Trump's State of the Union Address").

President's Goals in the Upcoming Year

The goals of the President are still focusing on the economy and improving the livelihoods of the citizens. One is about restoring the manufacturing sector. He commented that within the previous two administrations, there were over 60, 000 factories which were lost. Trump requested Congress to support him in his quest to ensure that there is vocational and technical training in high schools. Improving education in that way would ensure the unemployment levels are reduced. Trump also wants to focus further on healthcare. He noted some achievements which have been done, but he is committed to achieving more. There is a need for more affordable and high-quality healthcare to American families. The President stressed that he would not allow socialist to take over healthcare. Trump also said that they are working on a legislation that would lead to replacing the immigration system which is outdated. Another objective is to restore the rule of law to ensure that the Americans enjoyed their freedom. He also intends to ensure that religious liberty is restored. Praying in schools will be restored. The President mentioned plans to rebuild the American infrastructure. He also said various peace deals, including the commitment to ensure peace was restored between Israel and Palestine ("READ: President Trump's State of the Union Address").

My Impression on the President Speech

The impression that I got from the speech is like it was a well-planned reelection message. The employment levels and the rise in the economy part seemed to be exaggerated. I do not agree with that part of the speech. There are some efforts which have been noted but not to the level and figures which he gave. On the improvement of security and securing the borders, I agree that he has done an excellent job and even delivering his promises of building a wall on the Mexican border. The President is also committed to ensuring that the freedom of worship is given back to the citizens. I also agree with the President's commitment in ensuring that there is affordable healthcare for all. I agree with a more significant part of the President's address if he commits to implement what was in his address
