Humans are rational beings who use various means to encounter boredom where movies have become one of the key sources of entertainment for both families and friends. Different people use the movies to technically redefine their thinking while others consider it to be a method of encountering a new experience. Movie experiences differ from one watching area to the other because of the use of various designs that make it great. The screen size, seat comfort, reactions to the movie, personalized attachment and the general terms under which the movies are watched differ with the environment from which they are played. There exists a significant difference between the experiences that one enjoys from watching a movie in the theater and at home on television.
Although the same movie can be watched at home and in theaters, the similarities characterizing the activity stand out to a position where the disparities in the movie watching activity remain clear. In the theater, one gets a better experience because of the large screens, realistic sound effects and many rules that help one observing guidelines such as environmental conservancy. On the other hand, watching the movie at home is not as attractive as it in theaters since there are small screens, poor sound effect, and lighting. However, one does not have to follow many rules like the ones in the theater and can even choose where to watch the move from, either from the TV or computer (SiOWfa15 1).
An individual will spend more money and time when watching a movie at the theater as compared to watching the same at home since in theaters one will have to buy tickets and spend more time queuing for the tickets. At home, the individual will spend only on finding the movie to watch while there is little time needed to prepare for the movie (SiOWfa15 1). Time and money expenses create the difference in decision making whether to watch a movie at the theater or at home. During the weekends, for instance, movie theaters are crowded with individuals accessing tickets from which they enter the main hall. Time spend in queuing for the tickets and get entry into the theater is significantly more than that spend when watching the same movies at home.
The styles at which movies occur or watched for preference differ between theaters and homes. Theaters give individuals an opportunity to watch new movies under copyrights as a means through which one enjoys fashion styles. For home movies, it becomes hard for one to enjoy new movies since the copyrights for online distribution or TV viewing are given several months after the movies are released. However, the movie watching at home is suitable for classic movies (SiOWfa15 1). Identity formation can be ideal for those watching movies in theaters that it is for home viewing since theaters give one a sense of identity such as it is for youths who like watching new and fashion-based film as compared to the classic movies suitable at home.
The sense of belonging to the atmosphere created and attachment to the movies also show some difference when watched at home and theater. The media experience suspense, enjoyment and even the sense of presence influenced by the place where the movie is watched differ significantly. The quality of images, their dimensionality, lighting conditions, and cheering atmospheres are better in theaters than it is at homes since digital imaging with high resolution is used. In theaters, movies are projected on big screens of size 30 to 40 feet tall by 70 feet wide that happens to be uniquely available in theaters with few or no TV having such size thus reducing the benefits that home movies have as compared to theaters (Kim, Yunjae and Hyuksoo 3). Satisfaction, as well as identity formation from the consumption of media content, differs with the way the contents are availed to viewers as it happens in the comparative approach to home and theater movies.
Three-dimensional technology adapted to display movies in theaters make a difference that sounds unique in the comparison as the depth illusion misses in typical TV watching conditions when it comes to movies. Movie theaters are characterized by surround sound delivery systems that enrich the quality of sound produced while in home televisions only two-channel sounds are used as the standard formats. Lighting, on the other hand, is another consideration that brings a differing experience to the movie viewers since the dark theaters make the movies watched the priority as opposed to home TV where the bring lighting occurs. (Kim, Yunjae and Hyuksoo 3). The collective emotional attachment is movie theaters is significant as compared to home TVs where only family members can cheer although there is limited conditioning as it is in theaters.
Conclusion
In conclusion, although the movie watching from home TVs seems advantageous for specific reasons, it becomes clear that movie theaters are uniquely lucrative and beneficial to the viewers. In fact, the experience realized in watching movies at theaters, the fashion, and formational identity sequences makes movie theaters lively and unique than it is when they are watched at home.
