Introduction
The circulatory system forms an integral component of multicellular organisms. Fundamentally, the multicellular organism has developed transport and the circulatory system which deliver oxygen and food to cells, and eliminate the carbon dioxide as well as the metabolic wastes.
Circulatory Systems in Humans
In the human being, the circulatory system is composed of the three independent systems that operate together. These include the heart (cardiovascular), lungs (pulmonary) and the arteries, veins, and coronary, which generally constitute the systematic. This system enhances the overall flow of blood, nutrients, oxygen, and other gases to and from the cells. The heart plays a vital role in this system. It is a muscular organ with four chambers and therefore pumps the blood through the network of arteries and veins known as the cardiovascular system. Notably, the network of veins, arteries, and other blood vessels are involved in the transportation of the oxygenated blood from the heart and delivers the oxygen and nutrients to the body cells. The deoxygenated blood is also taken back to the heart through the same mechanism.
Circulatory Systems in Fish
The circulatory system in fish is different. Fundamentally, the fish have a single systematic flow of blood. This means that the heart pumps the blood to the gills for it to be re-oxygenated. The blood hence flows to other parts of the body and back to the heart. In fish, the atrium collects the blood that returned from the body. On the other hand, the ventricle pumps the blood to the gills. This is where the exchange takes place.
Circulatory Systems in Insects
Cockroaches demonstrate a different type of circulation. The circulatory system is open. The body fluid or the hemolymph occupies the cavities of the body as well as the advantages. The closed organ is known as the dorsal vessel, which originates from the hind end through the thorax of an organism to the head. The presence of the heart within the abdomen helps pump the hemolymph to other body parts.Circulatory Systems in Birds
In birds, the blood circulation consists of a four-chambered heart and the blood vessels. Through the pumping mechanism of the heart, a tremendous amount of blood is transported throughout the bird's body by arteries and veins. The blood is then allowed to return to the heart through veins. The powerful heart enables birds to keep a high level of physical exertion for an extended period.

In conclusion, the circulatory system in living organism is vital because it enhances the overall flow of blood, nutrients, oxygen, and other gases to and from the cells. Notably, the network of veins, arteries, and other blood vessels are involved in the transportation of the oxygenated blood from the heart and delivers the oxygen and nutrients to the body cells.
