What was the social vision of the Soviet Union, republican Spain and rebel Spain and what motivated people to participate in and contribute to them?
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics that later come to be known as The Soviet Union was formed in November the year 1917 by the Bolshevik Party. The party was led by Vladimir Leni. After the year 1923, the party was under the leadership of Josef Stalin who was commonly referred to as the Communist. He took power of the party after the end of a bitter civil way in the year 1921. In the year 1922, the union was made up by uniting the Russian, Ukrainian, Transcaucasian and Byelorussian republics. In the mid-twenties Joseph Stalin become the leader of the union.
The aim of the union was to ensure fair distributions of resources in an equal manner. According to the Socialist, their main aim was to ensure communalism in all their party states members. They would seek to have all the national resources centralized and then distribute the resources according to the needs of the people. They would seek to abolish private property, market and the state control of economy. The socialism envisions families having a longer lifespan since there would be no families that will be suffering from lack. People will get paid according to their performance and the rich will not have to oppress the poor.
The people were motivated to join this movement because they saw that they had found an opportunity to brighten their future. The people also saw this an opportunity of people having what was enough for their needs and no one would have in excess while other had nothing. The union also made the people feel that their needs were being considered by the leaders, and therefore it was vital that they protect the leaders regardless of their ideology.
The Republican Spain was divided into three main eras, the fist Biennium, the Dark Biennium and the popular front government. These three eras have been dived to represent the time before, during and after the civil war in Spain. In the early 1920s, Joseph Stalin sought to expand his reign to thwart Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini rein in Europe, so he come up with the Left-wing Coalition. In the year 1936 Spain joined this coalition after the president then was replaced by a Manuel Azana who was a left winger.
The social visions of The Republican Spain were, first to implement social laws in Spain. The social laws ensured that the laborers working conditions had been improved regardless of the field where they were. The second was to ensure that there were extensive educational reforms that saw more than 7000 schools being constructed. They also sought to have co-education system for both boys and girls. Religion as a mandatory subject was to be made optional in all schools.
The other vision included military reforms. In this reform, the military people were asked to take loyalty to the regime or retire with full pension. The last social vision was to improve the agrarian sectors. The regime sort to redistribute the ownership of land so that the day laborers would become landowners.
Most people were motivated by the fact that they would own land and hence the supported the movement at the period. Second, the people felt that their children would be given opportunities to have education and this motivated them to support the government. The military also endorsed the government, because they felt their needs were being catered for in terms of being provided by equipment's for war and their families were protected by the government in case of their death on the battleground.
In July 1936 the rebel movement in Spain came into existence. The movement being supported by the Nationalists gained access to the cities that were unprotected by the Civil Guard. Their major source of support at that early stage was Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler. This lead to war between the Republicans and the Nationalities.
The Nationalist used "Hit the Shepherd Scatter the Flock" tactic. They would invade a town then the army units would round up all the local and political leaders and execute them. Then they will bring the town under the leadership and control of the Nationalist.
The following were the social vision of the rebellion. The rebellion sort to bring social freedom of the citizens from the oppressive hand of the Republicans. They sort to have people make their own rules that will cater to the needs of the society. Second, they sort to maintain their heritage and different culture without the government trying to impede them. The rebels also sought to have freedom from the dictatorship of other countries that were more powerful than them so that the citizens of Spain will leave without fear of war.
The people were motivated by the following reason. First, the nationalist joined the rebels to protect their wealth that was to be distributed to others. The rich also sought to remain in power to retain their influence in their local societies. Second, the republican government had not delivered on its promises hence the citizen were feeling cheated and taken for granted by the republican government and therefore they saw that rebellion against the government might speed up the delivery process of the government.
