The fundraising committee shall be in charge of ensuring implementation of project controls during this fundraising campaign. The controls for the fundraising staff and volunteers involve appropriate communication about all aspects of their roles as individuals and teams. The fundraising secretariat shall be responsible for the training of volunteering committee as well as emphasizing the functions of the students during activities. As the head of the fundraising committee, I will ensure that the entire team, as well as the principal, understands all aspects of the project. The principal shall be responsible for comprehensively explaining to the school staff and students the purpose of the fundraising project including how they can participate in the venture.

The even participation and assignment of tasks in all teams will be a crucial control for the project. All committees shall have proportionate recruitment of members to ensure adequate distribution of responsibilities in a way that every member can manage. This division of work helps to reduce time wastage and redundancy (Kshama, 2017). Secondly, responsibilities shall be distributed according to an individual's interests and skill set. The leader of the volunteering team shall assign social media campaigns to the students who have digital skills while one on one interaction with people in the community shall be attached to individuals with excellent interpersonal skills and are interested in outdoor outreach. The fundraising committee, on the other hand, will have individuals with excellent negotiation skills reaching out to suppliers and community businesspeople while others will be tasked with administrative roles such as follow up and consolidation of resources. Apart from communicating people's parts, there shall be weekly or biweekly evaluation of team members performance to ensure they are achieving the desired goals (Aramyan, 2018).

A budget will be prepared that consolidates all expenditure of the fundraising campaign. The cost of supplies such as gifts, prizes, printing charges, soccer team merchandise, food, and snacks shall be factored into the budget. A section of unforeseen costs shall be accounted for in case negotiations with businesspeople are not fruitful and the committee has to pay for the renting of space in community spots to sell merchandise and reach out to people (Kshama, 2017). An additional control will involve the filling of report forms that indicate the amount collected from every outreach program, donations and ticket sales by staff charged with administering the collection of funds (Aramyan, 2018). This documentation will help keep team members responsible and will also help account for money collected during the accounting process that will be done on a weekly basis. A comprehensive meeting held on a bi-weekly basis will contain reports on current revenue standings according to the different teams in comparison to the goals of the project. This report will help in the review of the project, and members can recommend actions to correct actions that resulted in any deviation.

Students shall receive the donations to the Iron Heights soccer team, members of the school staff or the fundraising committee. The gifts shall be delivered to the school principal for safe keeping. Monetary donations, on the other hand, shall be collected by the fundraising team and be received by the treasurer of the fundraising committee (Gronbjerg, 2013). The donations of sporting material can be obtained by the head of the school sports department. The material contributions that cannot be utilized by the school can be sold to members of the community or be included in the raffle. At the end of the fundraising campaign, all collected proceeds shall be delivered to the board of the directors together with a comprehensive account of the fundraising project before it is officially assigned to the school's sports department.

Great leadership is essential for the successful management of every project. The fundraising project of iron Heights High School requires me to offer guidance to a diverse group of people as well as implement a project management structure to achieve the goals of the fundraising campaign. Firstly, I will have to influence and equip team leaders with leadership skills that will enable them to motivate their counterparts in the volunteering committee as well as the principal and school staff (Krahn & Hartment, 2006). Secondly, the fundraising program involves both teenage students and adults, and therefore, it will require a strategic approach to communicating with the diverse groups (Kumar, 2009). The students' group may need a more follow up, listening and resolving of conflicts than the adult group due to their higher numbers (100 students) and age. Team leaders working with youths will require training on how to handle team dysfunctions.

I will schedule team building activities to boost morale among the fundraising participants on a quarterly basis. Moreover, I will have to motivate and train team leaders on how to mobilize their members. I will employ the use of icebreakers, and verbal rewards to drive the volunteer committee members. Similarly, I will make use of verbal acclaims and encourage its use during accountability meetings with the fundraising committee and other groups (Kumar, 2009).

Conclusion

The leadership quiz by Kevin Daum was insightful in helping me discover my leadership style. I scored 24 points on the leadership quiz which suggests that my leadership style is similar to that of Phil Jackson (Daum, 2014). The survey indicates that I can successfully lead to situations that involve varying groups of people. I can do this by rallying different personalities towards achieving the uniform goals of the project. Furthermore, Daum suggests that people with my type of score can maneuver successfully through interruptions or changes that may occur in the running of an organization. This attribute is quite useful in project management as it enables one to effectively utilize controls when a project deviates from its planned course. In addition to the accommodation of change, my leadership profile includes an inclination for the positive reception of feedback from team members as well as the ability to encourage and motivate people (Daum, 2014). These leadership qualities are useful in project management especially in the case of Iron Heights High School fundraising since it involves different groups of participants.
