The Federalist Party began as a result of opposition towards the Democratic - Republican Party during the era of President George Washington. The Federalists emphasized commercial and diplomatic harmony; they also wanted to curb what they viewed as excess democracy at the state level.

Furthermore, they wanted to create a perfect Union. Federalist in this era preferred a strong centralized government; they viewed the federal government as a positive agent of change and believed that Federalism would result to prosperity to the people of America. The federalist had a view that the government should serve the interests of the few to gain benefit for all and create a strong national institution. They never opposed elections, but they believed that once these people voted they should leave the decision making to those individuals they elected. They also supported a great construction of the constitution.

During the 1780's the United States was characterized by economic issues due to war-related debts that were incurred by the state. Political leaders in the Federalist Party realized that the only way to gain respect in the government is through settling the public debt, which will, in turn, secure the future of the Americans. Hamilton believed in an agricultural and manufacturing sector which was to expand economic growth for the people of America. Economic development would also help secure liberation due to revenue from tariffs.

On Diplomatic Views, I would support France this is because the French attempted to overthrow the aristocratic leaders, which in turn inspired their cause for liberty. The French revolution portrayed a sense of human liberty. Their actions, for example, the declaration of three days of mourning after the death of Benjamin Franklin showed honor to human. The French government had a desire for the United States to live up to the 1778 treaty. Additionally, they required them to secure a right on the outfit of privateers and obtain support from the Americans to conquer the British and American rule in the new world.

The Alien Act states that be it enacted by the Senate or the House of Representatives in the United States of America, whenever there is war between the United States and a foreign government, the president of the United States shall make promulgation to apprehend all aliens from 14 years and above and refer them as alien enemies. There was a large number of individuals who came to the United States during the 1790's, the federal part feared that the French immigrants would support their home country and the Irish ones would support France because of their hatred towards Great Britain. The act required all the aliens to register when they arrive in the United States especially those at war with the United States. The Alien enemies' act of 1798 allowed the President to deport an alien from an enemy country during the war. Federalist designed the act to target individuals who would pose a threat to the country and those who were against them in the elections.

Conclusion

Some newspapers in the United States especially the ones that supported the Republican Party because it provides a means of criticizing the Federalist. For federalist it was a means of their opponents to promote the cause of enmity. The Federalist supports the Seditionist in which it was a crime to impede the operation of the law of the United States or prevent an official agent from the government to undertake their duties.
