Colors, patterns and unique designs have always astounded me. I have also been interested in the way an arrangement of colors and patterns can produce a perfect design if properly and artistically blended. Since a young age, I have been a person who wished to venture into designing items although I had not decided on which type of design I was most pleased with. After I graduated from high school, that is the time that my passion for interior design crossed my mind. I have always observed people make designs which are creative and appealing to the audience. My curiosity for these designs drives me to immerse myself in studying a Bachelor's degree in interior design and I believe that studying this course at Parson's School of Design will fit me greatly.

The Appeal of Parsons School of Design: Reputation, Faculty, and Collaborative Opportunities

My preference for Parsons School of Design is its unparalleled reputation as regards the quality of students, faculty, education, and training. Most of my role models are alumni of Parsons School of Design and I believe that upon joining the institution, I will acquire the necessary skills to make me a role model to someone. Besides, Parsons School of Design allows its learners to collaborate with peers and industry partners and this is a step that goes a long way in imparting the right knowledge and skills to the trainee.

Upon completion of this course, my desire is to use to serve other people. As part of my service to the community, I would like to give back to the community by offering free or subsidized interior design services to the less fortunate in society. I was raised in a community where interior design is valued but people shun it because of its high expenses. As such, it is thought as a preserve for the affluent only. This is a notion that many people have held on for quite a long time. Upon the completion of my studies, I would like to go to the community and offer free interior design services to the less fortunate so that they do not feel inferior.

Connecting Hobbies and Skills: Traveling, Photography, and Interior Design

During my spare time, I like traveling and photography. I believe these are hobbies that fit well with Interior Design as they help me to explore a variety of new items and new skills which I can incorporate in my interior design practice. Currently, of all types of design, the interior design stands out as the most preferred course that goes with my abilities.

Communication Skills: Essential for Successful Interior Design Work

I am an outgoing person who communicates well with all people. This is a skill that is essential for this kind of work as I will be required to communicate with clients and explain to them the various colors, patterns, and designs that are fit for their premises. Besides, it will help me to listen to the requirements of the client and interpret them correctly and also offer my advice where need be.

Conclusion

All my life especially as a growing child, I always wondered how things work. How images and decorations can be used to communicate succinctly. Now, I want to make things work and how to design things that will really work. It is my hope that my creations will make other people become curious about how they can make interior designs as good as mine.
