Introduction
Global information systems are information systems that employ the use of technology within and outside its country's boundaries. It is also defined as a system of software and hardware used for retrieval, storage, mapping, and analysis of geographic data. It was developed to enhance the connection between one country and another without boundary barriers. It was the earliest and the most still widespread technology application. It was used by early scientists who had a passion for geography. They wanted a way to coordinate systems that they could use to put together spatial data for analysis and mapping. They invented the global information system a technique that would connect them around the world. GIS can also be used for development planning, resource management and, scientific investigations. The essay will elaborate how global information systems are information systems and how they use technology within and outside its country's boundaries
The global information systems can currently be used to increase control over organizations subsidiaries. It ensures better coordination of activities, and it also provides access to new markets worldwide. The latter is meaningful use as people around the globe can share information regarding their business, thus providing markets and suppliers for each other. It is also a way to earn government revenue through overseeing trading. Individuals can use global information systems in the following ways. It helps an individual perform their professional jobs efficiently due to adequate information in the platform.it also assists one to conduct the organization's activities with ease.
Lastly, it also guides an individual to seek opportunities in the marketplace for products of the nation or the firm. The organization can also implement the global information systems as it helps to sell and buy goods and services abroad, import and export products from other countries. It also helps the firms in strengthening its trading technical and managerial skills (2019). It also enables the globalization of businesses and allows global competition thus increased customers.
The government uses the global information systems to share information to the public, set rules and regulations and notify them to citizens. It also to state all the policies that should be practised and implemented by the public. The government is the most use of technology is given the responsibility to set measures and laws that govern the use of technology by the public ("Innovating with Information Systems for Global Reach", 2019). Global information systems also help the government know the political issues within other countries.
Attitudes Towards Global Information Systems
Every concept is entailed to face some views from those using it or benefiting from its operations. The global information system is also associated with some attitudes from users, the government and world in general. Lack of acknowledgement by human factors causes time delays and cost overruns which can lead to system failure or implementation being aborted. The systems are expensive and hard to implement, thus making many people reject it. The government also lacks the correct measures to address threats relating to the systems; therefore, it's a challenge. It connects organization and people all over the world which can give the enemy access to the most confidential information of the country (2019). Generally, the system experiences a negative attitude.
The attitude I give towards the global information systems is neutral. The system has more benefits as well as shortcomings. The benefits of the system include opening up global markets, providing adequate information about businesses and, offering greater connection to people worldwide. The attitude is positive. While focusing on the disadvantages of the systems and the threats it can pose to national security, the view is harmful. Being neutral is the best attitude one can give as the weaknesses, and the strengths do not outweigh each other.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Global Information Systems
The strengths of the Global Information Systems arise as the benefits the organizations get as an outcome of implementing them. They include; cost-saving, access to a large skilled workforce, improving the task modularization and proximity to market and customers. On the cost savings, the Global IS benefits organizations by employing low-priced employees from low-cost economy countries with reduced wage. It also ensures that global organizations have control over their communication and coordination overheads ("Strengths and Weaknesses of Global IS", 2019). It also allows the firms to choose non-critical, value-add and less complex tasks for easy achievement of the organizational objectives.
Global IS benefiting the organization with access to the sizeable skilled workforce by developing and expanding their software activities. It is done despite their location to create virtual global organizations. To benefit the organization must select and identify the candidate countries and evaluate the cultural, social and legal environment. It also contributes to the list of the required workforce and the countries that fit the organization's global employment needs. It improves the task modularization by ensuring the organization set the scoop of developing and implementation plan, delivery baseline and agree to the development stages of delivering products and services. It also gives proximity to market and customers by establishing subsidiaries in countries with global development software ("Strengths and Weaknesses of Global IS", 2019). It allows organizations to be close to customers and increase the local market's knowledge.
The disadvantages of Global IS are the thing that it causes against the wishes of the organization. They include information capacity, social impact and information security. Information capacity affects the organization by increasing organizational information capacity by reducing the overload of information. The social impact of global information systems on the organization is that it executes the tasks in the group. The virtual teams have different culture, social, languages and backgrounds. The individuals lack the motivation to contribute to their full potential. Information security affects the organization's management as it evaluates the sensitivities of an organization's information. Especially information regarding the organization strategic planning before implementing the global IS ("Strengths and Weaknesses of Global IS", 2019). Organizations shouldn't use Global information systems when outsourcing services.
Future Trends of Global Information

It creates comprehensive information techniques that give organization strategies or tactics that better to performance. There are also upcoming global intelligence systems that help the organization's management. The system provides leaders' idea that helps them make strategic planning and significant decisions. The intelligence systems give knowledge and ideas that make the management responsible and accountable.
