Introduction
Stephen Shore is a well-known American photographer recognized for his pioneering use of paint in art photography. For the past forty-five years, most of his works have been widely published and exhibited in numerous museums. He is recorded as the first photographer in history to have hosted a one-man show at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art forty years after the demise of Alfred Stieglitz. He is an inspirational figure to many upcoming photographers.
Shore's journey of photography began when he was age six after he was gifted a photographic darkroom kit. He later obtained a 35-millimeter camera which helped him produce color photographs. At age ten he was gifted Walker Evan's "American Photographs" which further drove his passion to be a photographer. His first income from photography was at age fourteen when his work was bought by Edward Steichen. Three years down the line Shore got an opportunity to meet Andy Warhol, a leading figure in the pop art at the studio and began taking her snapshots with fellow colleagues. At only 24 years Shore had already become the second photographer to make a solo exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
At such a tender age, Shore had made huge milestones in his career. It was at this point that he decided to travel across America and Canada to find inspiration in nature and documentation of voyages. In 1972, while traveling from Manhattan to Texas, Shore's attention was captured by the roads and he developed an interest in color photography. By then only black and white images were being taken. After doing very many shows he wrote a book titled "Uncommon Places" that later turned to be a huge influence on the works of many photographers such as Martin Parr, Andreas Gursky, and Nan Goldin.
During his career, Shore also conducted fashion photography for Daily Telegraph, Elle, and Another Magazine. He also got an opportunity to be commissioned by the Italian Luxury label, Bottega Venta as a photograph filmmaker for the brand's 2006 collection advertisement, Socialite Lydia Hearst-Shaw, and Liz Goldwyn. The Royal Photographic Society awarded Shore an Honorary Fellowship in 2010. Today, Shore is the director of the department of photography at Bard College.

It makes me look forward to the second visit. Through various work art that is presented in the museum, a tech-forward approach is identified to be emerging in various unexpected features for example in the exhibition, there is a unique table that is identified to have gone through the process of retrofitting with one great touchscreen. Through this, the guest is given a better platform and an opportunity to offer assistance and help the visitors to perfect their trick shot digitally. On the other hand, during winter, it is identified that the rooftop of the Envoy hotel bar is offering a perfect environment that is totally lit by the use of Igloos hence offering the local innovators and the general guest a better place that is recognized to be warm.

Stephen Shore did contemporary art back in 1970's using colors at a time when black and white were the only colors used in the art. Shore uses photography as a medium to explore the world and tell the stories of people in photographs. Shore received backlash because of his colored photography works back then but his persistence in pursuing colored and large camera photography with passion gradually changed the way photographs were captured. Shore's transformation from using old analog cameras to using digital cameras and improving the quality of his photos all through has shown his relentless passion to reform contemporary art. Shore's "American surfaces" photos are useful in teaching the modern world about the culture and tradition of the American people.
