The film became famous and attracted many fans in viewing, and this earns the movie a mammoth viewership and following by people from all walks of life. The video was written by Donald Ogden and was therefore embraced as the best comedy of remarriage, a type that was famous in the 1930s to 1940s, where a couple of divorces and flirts with the strangers and later marries again.
According to Broadway play by Philip Barry, the film is about a celebrity who has a wedding where the plans are complicated by the simultaneous arrival of her husband, whom they had divorced some time back, and a tabloid magazine writer. The celebrity play character was Katherine Hepburn, who had her inspiration from Helen Hope, who was a socialite in Philadelphia state well known for her hijinks who is married to a friend by the name of Barry (Sedgwick, and Pokorny 326). In the play, Hepburn, whose acting name was Tracy Lord, is the elder daughter of a wealthy Philadelphian man. His husband is Cary Grand, whose acting name is Dexter Haven, who is a yacht designer. Hepburn later divorces him for not meeting the standards set by her family and friends. Katherine Hepburn then marries a wealthy man George Kittredge whose real name was John Howard.
Among the actors was Sidney Kidd, who was a spy magazine author and was eager to capture the wedding, and he ends up assigning the task to a reporter by the name Macaulay whose real name was James Stewart and Ruth Hussey who acts as Liz Imbrie. With the aid of Haven, Sidney could get them into an affair. Haven introduces them as friends to the brother of Tracy Lord, and in this case, Tracy is not fooled, but Dexter Haven tells her that Sidney Kidd threatened the family. The night before the wedding, Tracy Lord drinks for the second time and takes a midnight swim with mike (Avery, 323). At this point, George notices Mike carrying a drunken Tracy into the house and rushes to think the worst.
The film was outstanding, and the numerous awards support this that it won as well as those that were won by its actors. Among the awards that the film won include the Academy Awards, the National Film Preservation Board Award, and New York Film Critics Circe awards, among other honors (Avery, 323). Some of these awards are very prestigious and gave the film a chance to shine all over the world. This film is crucial as it provides the views with an opportunity of entertainment as it is more of comedy, and this makes the viewers have a good time and laughter as it also provides them with some education about marriage life.
