Introduction

The painting is a representation of an event comprising of both male and female. The people in the picture can be seen dancing while others are seated. It depicts a celebratory mood involving dance and drink. The mood from a third person perspective shows a jovial mood. It is presumably a party such as a wedding party because of the composition of male-female couples everywhere. Although the date is not definite, one can easily predict that the event is happening at night because of the need for artificial lighting. The painting does not have a name or a label; thus it is not easy to conclude who the painter was and the intention of making the painting. However, it is worth noting that the painter was presenting to the audience, an event. This is because of the multitudes of people that form the main objects of the painting. The paintings demonstrate how man and nature interdependently co-exist with each other in more than one way creating a concept of life and dependency for mutual benefit.

The artwork which is made up of men, women, and trees. From the primary components of the painting, we find a combination of three primary colors which are black, green and white. Other color spots can be seen from a distance, but most of it is made up of the two colors. The theme of the painting is also emphatic. One can see how the trees which contribute to the green coloring of the event get emphasis from the lighting source and the contrast of people's dressing. Other features that are most visible include the light source which is suspending from the upper side of the painting and which illumine the event providing a light source. Also, from a distance, one can see what looks like structures made of wood and metallic roofing. In addition, other items include the seats and tables which are strategically arranged to provide seating of at least four people in one go.

The unique arrangement of people and trees that the painter uses for this piece of artwork depicts an intense line. It vividly outlines the lighting and the stretching of the painting. Furthermore, the use of the line through the alignment of trees is likely to have caused the forward push of the image creating a two-dimensional space and an unusual appearance. The overall application of color and shape in this artwork is simplistic yet genuinely emphasizing the very nature of every aspect of life and dependency.

The painter underlines the three-dimensionality of the image through the use of color fusion. This artistic expression appears through the use of both black and white to depict both sides of the person. Also, the source of light for this painting comes from the suspending light bulbs that hang from afar distance from one end of the artwork. In addition, the choice of coloring is cool as it comprises a mixture of more than one color. The appearance of different colors enhances the beautiful aspect of the color as applied on the artwork.

The painting creates a balanced impression with every side having an important application of both color and texture. Although one can view more geometric shapes on the far left side, still there is an element of variety as depicted by the organic forms in the right. The painting achieves its symmetrical sense through the use of both people and trees shapes throughput the surface. On the right side, there is a combination of both people and a continuous coloring style which spills over to the right-hand side of the painting. Other than the color, variety also comes through the use of a somewhat repeating texture throughout the design. However, the picture seems to be inclined more to the right-hand side with most of the features on the left side appearing hidden from view. Finally, the painting achieves a uniform rhythm comprising of a consistent flow of color and the arrangement of patterns across the painting surface.

There is a wide range of artistic media that the painter has used in this artwork. The media include oil paint, fabric, and silkscreen. This application of different media shows the ability of the artist to apply different media. The placement of feature in this painting shows the precision with which the artist uses. The background coloring and the harmony the artist achieves is also a sign of artistic accuracy. Furthermore, the way the paint is applied so that it leaves no spaces between the people and also in the trees is remarkable. Finally, the general appearance of orderliness the artwork achieves creates a feeling of action and enthusiasm that enhances both the decorative aspect of the color and the active theme altogether.

Conclusion

In my view, the artist is trying to convey the concept of coexistence between man and nature. The beautifully placed lighting on the trees and the way people are uniformly spread in striking contrast with the trees bring s a sense of environmental interdependence. In addition, the use of furniture crafted from wood and the way the trees provide both shade and support for lighting is a show of how man depends on nature. On the other hand, the conservation of the trees so that they can grow as tall as they are is an indication of man's fundamental commitment towards preserving the environment for mutual benefit. Perhaps it is the artist's way of showing that the coexistence between man and nature is not easy to dispute.
