The following essay is going to discuss how the government revolution has impacted the transformation of the modern federal government.

Articles of Confederation was the first written constitution of the United States. Under the items, the sovereignty of the states remained independent (Maggs). The Congress remained the representatives of the states who were mandated to making treaties and alliances as well as the maintenance of the armed forces. However, the central government was unable to levy taxes a problem that resulted to the constitutional convention in 1787.

The revolution came as a result of the need for a stronger union enough to defeat their colonizers who were Great Britain. It is during this time that the nation desired to have a constitutional order appropriate to its republican character. The constitution-making was a process that took several years, and even to date, constitutional amendments are being conducted. The first draft of the constitution was written by Benjamin Franklin who presented it to the Congress in the year 1775. Later there was another draft written by Silas Dean, a representative of Connecticut. Several other drafts were written however none of them contributed significantly to the one by John Dickinson of Pennsylvania. By 1779 all states had approved it except Maryland. Other several challenges faced the implementation of the constitution which were brought by claims brought forward by several states (Vecsei).

The constitution of the United States is made up of 13 articles.

The constitution was signed in by the states however that did not settle all issues brought forward. Issues brought forward included the amount of taxes that states should pay and what formula should be used (Miller). One of the methods proposed by states to provide money to the Congress was through the number of white inhabitants that were in those states however that was opposed, and it was decided the amount of taxes to be paid be based on the worth of land and developments.

The sole purpose of the constitution was to unite the states into one stable form of government. The constitution is a significant document which since its formation in the 1777 and its implementation in 1782 is being used to date. The articles of confederation act as the guidelines for the national government of the United States after the declaration of independence from Great Britain. However, it established a weak central government since most of the powers were left with the state governments but turned out to be one of the most robust constitutions in the world (Routh). These were achieved through the transformation of regional commercial conferences into national constitutional convention a move that was orchestrated by nationalists such as James Madison, George Washington among others.

The federal government is divided into three distinct branches; the legislature, executive, and judiciary. The constitution provides the sole purpose and the functioning of the three branches of government. The post-revolution impact to the modern federal government is achieved through the sharing of power whereby each citizen is granted freedom and rights. The constitution acts as a reference to dealing with convicts. The constitution gives the citizens the ability to compare political systems and gives them a chance to move between states until they find one that is more favoring (Maggs). The division of powers protects the freedom of the US citizens for it prevents the rise of a centralized government that is prone to the form of dictatorship. These results to decentralization of the government making it easier for the citizens to supervise and provide a platform for the federal government to serve its people. The revolution resulted in the creation of a more stable government which as history can tell the US is a stable country viewed as the land of opportunities.

From the above, it is shown that the constitution was made through the participation of several people that first made the drafts and in the end resulted in the formation of the constitution. The impact of these could be seen as one that the United States is perceived to be the land of justice and opportunities. Through this, the constitution has made the US have one of the best forms of government that are now being emulated by other nations from all over the world. All this has been as a result of the post-revolution (articles of confederation) that were written centuries ago.
