Introduction
A government is crucial in ensuring citizens are offered security and order and, at the same time, provide laws, which help to provide general welfare. At the same time, it provides its citizens with social programs. There are various types of governments, and therefore they meet objectives in different ways due to varying ideologies. Dictatorship, democracy, and monarchial are the critical form of governments that helps to rule citizens. A government is essential because it helps maintain order, ensure citizens are protected from any way of threats, establishes laws, and provides public services, thereby enhancing general welfare. Therefore, there is a need to find out the extent to which a government is necessary.
In biblical perspectives, a government is acknowledged. According to the book of Romans 13, it is recorded that there is a need for every person to subject to authorities which are governing and every lead is given by God, meaning that even those in various positions of managing, it is God who has instituted them. In this case, it can be seen that people must have a governing body, which will guide people's conduct and, at the same time, protect them from any incoming dangers. As presented by the biblical context, people should be in subjection to God and those whom God has appointed. Concerning this, a government is essential because it is presented as a power source, which can be used to meet people's objectives more efficiently.
General Welfare
A government is highly recommended due to how it offers people their general welfare. The different forms of services that a government can offer promote the welfare of its people. In this case, people’s wellbeing and happiness as a society are achieved. The various form of services provided by a government, including public education, efficient and safe infrastructures, the building of health care facilities, and ensuring there is a clean environment and water increases the chances of citizens being happy. Hence, implementation of society goals depends on society's values and needs.
In particular, a government ensures there is security and maintains order. Ensuring people are safe from any form of harm is a crucial responsibility of any government. Thus, a government adopts various measures to ensure its people are safe from any form of damage. For instance, a dictatorship form of government will maintain order to make sure its regime is secure and stable. On the other hand, a democratic government will offer security and maintain order by ensuring that they give recognition to the rule of law.
Institutions
In most cases, a democratic government will include institutions like the criminal justice system to make sure that citizens are safe from any form of personal property theft or physical harm. At times, the structure of criminal justice is used in settling disputes, and this ensures there is order within the society. In terms of maintaining order, democratic form of government ensures that citizens are protected from different states of harm through guaranteeing the civil rights of every individual are safeguarded. Hence, the citizen is granted their freedom of liberty, speech and all the advantages given by the bill of rights. Justice departments protect citizens at the federal level.
Conclusion
Establishment of law is another advantage offered by the existence of the government. All form of governments tends to enact laws. The democratic government adopts the rule of law principles, and thus the people and the government operate as per the guidance offered by the set laws. The laws limits and protects the citizens and no one is allowed to use above the law. However, although all governments have rules, how those laws are created and be adhered to varies a lot.
